Bloodhounds 3 - 7 Farley Eden
We could and possibly should have been 4 or 5 zip up but let it slip to 3-2. Some excellent pool tonite from us to bring it home 7-3 which i think was a fair result. Our new blood is giving us that full strength team that we have lacked for the last few seasons.
Way too busy at Rileys tonight. Are there no pubs left in croydon with pool tables lol

London Slates 4-6 Legion
Played at the Slates new Venue of Rileys in Lewisham. Just as well they called us to let us know or we would have ended up in Forest Hill.
An enjoyable night with the Slates fellas & the new venue is quite nice too.
I would rather be playing golf |

Always nice to win a debut in div 1. Good fair result Eden 7 blood hounds 3 come on time to start the season and before I forget special mention to Arthur hewson who tactically outwitted his brother Adam to won the frame between one another that's what youvget when you leave the Eden LOL
I think I got a bite ... And it's a big one |

Agreed - the Eden were deserved winners. And a big thank-you to all their boys for switching to Rileys at such short notice - hope to sort out our venue very soon!
Shot of the night goes to Truey who managed to get himself from a losing position into a frame winning position, with a twice up and down the table shot to cover the pocket - absolute class!
Improved showing by us - I don't know why we start the season so slowly! Hopefully by next week we will have our very best 7 players out! |

Good performance last night from us - including a great debut win for Farron
Have to say that the tables at suzy's are great but the place has no atmosphere at all & you get bumped all over the place beacuase of the amount of people trying to watch the matches or even get to the bar
Don't think it does the bloodhounds any favours playing there as they like us need a pub with a bit of needle rather than a club - good luck for the rest of the season fellas
Cheers for the shot of the night award teach

Nothing more to add really. Good, consistent and clinical team performance came last night off the back of what had been 4 weeks or so struggling to find some form.
Great draw from the Cuemasters from 4-1 down. Went 5-4 up as well.
Prop beat Unpreds 7-3, so table looks like this:
Propeller 17
Hot Shots 15
Patriots 13
Eagles 13
Jolly 11
Eden 9
Legion 9
Unpreds 9
London 8
Cuemasters 7
Pond 6
Bloodhounds 3

Re the venue, I cant beleive that teams at the bar end continue to play on those 4 tables.
We had an ocean of tables at our end. It seems silly really.

The point I made on a previous post.
You need ultra powers of concerntration to play on those tables. Its like Picadilly Circus.
Good tables though. |

There is plenty of room for all, as I said we had half an acre to play in.
Its teams being sensible and relocating to other tables to ensure everybody has enough room.

yes a good comeback last night even if unexpected. our forms been quite patchy of late so to go from 1-4 to 5-4 was a good test of character! and with our secratary predicting a 7-3 defeat we are all looking forward to recieving a grovelling apology off him in the form of a round of drinks for the team! so bring your wallet tues shanks.

we may need a bigger boat..! |
