I heard on relatively good authority that the Hot Shots are on the verge of folding as a team after their recent efforts to get a team out have failed somewhat . .
. . it'll be a sad loss to lose one of the league's best teams (and not to mention reigning champions) if it's true |

Quick, you best let Mark or Bob know, as they've told the Trophy Engravers to put someone else down as League Champions . . .

On a serious note however. . .
Big loss to the league if this is the case.
Will it affect the Winter Hot Shots team?
Another high profile victim of lack of players.
Surely strengthens the argument to reduce the team sizes.

I'd imagine it's just the Summer Hot Shots that are calling it a day . .
. . they're currently without Rod Altes, Nigel Clarke, Ian Clarke, Sean Halligan and I think Dino Nair and Michael Brown rarely make appearances so it's no wonder why they want to call it a day . . .
. . that said I'd be surprised to see most, if not all of those above not reappear for the Winter but with the forms coming out in the not too distant future all will be revealed! |

Its no suprise really to be honest. With players travelling the length and breadth of London, let alone Croydon to play for them, it cannot be sustainable forever.
I take my hat off to the Clarkes etc who travelled from Barnet every week, and for one dont blame anyone for not wanting to carry that commitment on.
After 6 years and 40 players they might be satified with winning the league once and being considered one of the leagues mighty teams if only for a fleating moment.

Where's Harry?
This thread has been up for at least an hour and he's not tried to tap anyone up! Does anyone know if he's ok? Something might have happened!

Chaos, I thought you had gone.
The C of C cannot ever be taken away from them, and it is extremely unlikey that any team from this league will ever replicate that. Hats off to them for that.
I do hope they attend the presentation this year so that all the teams in the league can give them the credit they deserve for that achievement.

I said it then, and I'll say it again, a truly amazing achievement which merits every congratulations it gets.
They done the league proud.
It makes our Winter League win that much better, and I don't mean that in a gloating manner, it's a compliment.
I rate the Hotshots side of the last 2 years as good as anything I've seen, so to pip them to a title speaks volumes for how well we played.
From a league point of view, to lose not just one of the best sides in our league, but one of the best sides in the UK, is a sad day for the CDPL.
I throughly enjoyed playing against them over the years both for the Pawleyne and the Eagles. |

They're the only thing that have kept the Eagles going over the past few years . . To win the treble against them, to the lose the double to them and fight to get the league title back once more is the only reason the Eagles existed as there was no other team who could compete . . |
