Imperials 6-1 Potty's Cons
Pond Q's 5-2 Farley Eden

Even plan 'B' has failed |

That leaves the Eden needing a 6-1 win against the Imperials to secure top spot and the pleasure of our company in the 2nd Group Stage . . |

But it is still in 'our' hands. And win or lose last night we knew that would be the case come the final week. The Eden have always been a better team when they have to deliver a victory and on that basis I'd rather have to play the Imperials knowing we need a minimum of a 5-2 win to progress through to the 2nd stage.

Pond Q's 5 Farley Eden 2 What a great night was had by all/or half of all !! It was good to meet the Eden luvvies again and shut them up ! Early on they were yelling and shouting like demented lunatics.During the first game, I think one of them even clapped Dave Truan for chalking his cue at the right end. The noise gradually abated and, as the last game finished you could hear a pin drop !! Mind you,it was 11.15 which is an hour and a half over our normal finishing time. Just as well we didn't have to play another three games as per the proposal for the summer league.Early on, we did advise our opponents of the one minute guideline but there was so much noise going on,I don't think that they heard us ! It was a great victory and the timing couldn't have been better. We had a bunch of tossers turn up to play us, so we battered them, and it was Pancake Day !! Ha ha |

Always a pleasure to play the Pond. Sportsmanlike behaviour prevailed from Pat by preventing us a knock on the table before the game commenced. Then there is the misfortune of spending a night in the company of a pissed Gerry Nannery whilst he splutters out his usual shite, and now they have the not so pretty McGinty boys thinking playing in lower depths of division two is 'different gravy'.
We at least left the over populated Rileys in the knowledge we lost to a very average division two side. |

Alex,if you want a knock-up on the match table, you must improve your teams punctuality. You lot actually turned up at 8.40. I was within my rights to claim the 1st game, but, being the gentleman that I am,I decided against that course of action. With your teams terrible record for slow play, might I suggest that you try to arrive at venues by 8.15 at the latest . As I have introduced several new young players,it is important that they get to bed early so that they can do their newspaper deliveries in the morning. |

Expected nothing less from you Pat. After all thats the difference between me and you. I would never not offer the opposition a knock on the table regardless if they were late.

As I said previously Alex,if you want a knock on the match table get there in time. I feel that my actions were totally vindicated by the eventual finish time. Incidentally you have chosen to mock some of my players. Was it not one of those players who eliminated you from the singles competition ? Is that why you decided not to play yourself ? Could you not find anybody who you fancied beating ? Have you got too many players now that you've stolen half of the Dukes team ? Answers on a postcard please ! |

Awful sportsmanship Pat. You can paint it which way you like.
I knew you would notice & admire the strength on the Eden bench these days. If Mr McGinty's win still means so much to you at the Pond Q's, I'll sign some of your t-shirt's next time I see you.
Dukes and Eden both play from the Farley. Hardly 'stealing' Patrick, more a case of agreed and welcomed internal transfers.

Alex, why don't you move your team back to the Elmer ? Then you could transfer some of your excess non-players to the Coney team using the Internal Transfer excuse !! Two problems solved !! Everybody is happy, especially Mark Bannister !! |

Our days at the Elmer are long over. Even the lure of a few soon to be homeless second rate division one players would not convince me to return to Beckenham!
