Can someone clarify if the 2nd coin toss is still used for singles and doubles matches, or was this rule ditched? It was my understanding that it was taken out, as the 1st coin toss would be pointless if we do it again if it?s a final frame decider. As its doubles tonight, can anyone clarify?

Thats right... Only 1 coin toss mate
Cheers Paul. I thought that was the case now. Its just I had a situation last week in my singles that I won the first toss, but then when it went to the deciding frame my opponent didn?t know about the new rule, so to we ended up tossing again, which I lost. Luckily it didn?t affect the result and I won the frame, but I would have been a bit agrieved if I?d got broke dished.
So, just wondering how many people actually know about this new rule? Has it been communicated to the sectretaries as it potentially has a big impact on matches.

This second toss was scrapped at the last AGM and Rule 25 was amended accordingly.
Everyone should know about it as Mark H puts a note about it on every league table sheet sent to all Secretaries each week:
25 - All matches in all competitions will commence at 8.15pm at which time teams must have a minimum of 3 players present (a Legal Line-Up) to allow the match to commence
(a) The order of the Break-Off is determined by the flip of a coin at the beginning of each frame to be played in 10 frame team matches.
(b ) The order of the Break-Off in Singles & Doubles KO matches is determined by the flip of a coin in the first frame and the winner has the choice of break then thereafter the break-off of each subsequent frame will alternate
