An entertaining game to watch, with both ladies saying that if they couldn't win it, then they would want the other to win....
The match ebbed and flowed, with never more than one frame in it...First blood to Cathy, with some good work in the balls....Linda levelled after getting the best of a tactical end to the second...Linda took the third when she was probably second favourite...Cathy got down to the black quickly in the fourth, Linda tried to make it awkward, but a speculative shot to develop the black towards a pocket went in, giving a deciding frame...
As had been the pattern through the match, Cathy got among the balls first, with Linda trying to cover pockets to keep in the game...unfortunately the cue slipped out of Linda's hand while playing a shot, and connected with a red...two shots Cathy, with a relatively easy clearance to wrap up the match...
Some good pool from both players, either of whom would have been worthy winners...
Comiserations to Linda, congratulations Cathy...
