The Warbank 5-5 Rileys Eden Knights
The Eden already won the Division before playing us, but we managed to secure runners up, which is nice.
Allot of banter and some excellant potting from the Eden, including a break and dish from Farron against yours truley.
Rob smashing up Kyle and finally Tommy T beating Wayne in the last frame to take the draw, but a special mention about the yellow shirt that he wore.
I will let Tom tell the story, but was very funny and a final curtain call for the Eden, taking the beans and eggs, and the Warbank taking the chips and gravy.
Well done to the Eden, we have had some battles over the last few seasons, but I am sure this will not be the last time for them, I am sure they will return in seasons to come. |

193's In Match Fixing Fiasco...
Well anyone would think so! Lost 10-0, Yes 10-0 to the Oakie Coakies...
Can't take anything away from them they have obviously mastered playing on a wooly blanket for a baize and using a cue ball made of stone... |

I'm not a regular contributor on here but I've got to say something after last nights results. Hats off to the Oakies for getting a result against The 193s, but to win 10 nil, come on. To me this looks like The 193s just couldn't be bothered and saw it as and end of Summer piss up as the result didn't mean anything to them. Fair enough if both teams are in that position but not when relegation or promotion places are being determined. Poor show fellas. |

foreign legion 5 - 5 flying machine.
when some of the 193's got back to rileys and told us the result we all thought they were winding us up. would of been funny if goodfellas had won 8-2, would of relegated the 193's...
anyway we had a great night. match was even, 5-5 fair result. finished by half ten, and then went on to have a game of killer which went on to gone half 11. cracking night, great lads, look forward to playing them in the winter.
well done everyone who won trophys and promotion and commiserations to relegated teams and also a goodbye to the imps, been a pleasure guys.

just so I can get the final table correct, if a team finishes on joint points, does is go down to games won first, or head to head? |

right, if it is down to games won then this is the final table:
Eden Knights 120
Warbank 104
Foreign Legion 96
Lock Stock & 2EB's 93
Maple Tree 86
Oakie Cokies 84
Flying Machine 83
The 193's 82
Goodfellas 82
Imperials 68
If it's down to head to head then I believe goodfellas beat and drew with the 193's which would swap them round and send the 193's down. |

I thought the Oaky actually finished 2 points ahead of us? Either way, have to reitterate Billys comments that i'm pretty disappointed in the 193's. I dont believe for 1 moment that they lost 10-0 trying. |

Well I can only give you my word that they did try, and other than Sean were all sober.... Whether anyone beleives that or not is obviously up to them, but I have never claimed a frame in my life.
The other thing to bare in mind is that to some extent our position was false anyway. We conceded around 15 points by being short. The other thing is that due to numbers we are unlikley to field a team next year anyway, so had nothing whatsoever to gain in not being relegated.
Another thing, didn't the Goodfellas beat the team third in the leage 7-3 then. Can't believe it could be this if Lock Stock were trying. (See that works both ways!)

Last night was the first time this season we've actually had a full attendance. Ordinarily, we'd be happy with a 7-3 over Lock Stock but obviously there was a major downer to the win with relegation.
We've thrown away frames week in, week out with stupid mistakes and poor finishing, so we can't complain. It wasn't about last night's results and allegations of match fixing are irrelevant, we should have done better for the rest of the season, not left it to the last night and then point the finger at others. Over the course of the season, we didn't do enough, end of story. If anything, it's a wake up call for next season. |

Dont get me wrong Shaggy, i'm not knocking your team. You can only beat the players put infront of you. I just think that had the 193's taken the match seriously i could never see that scoreline.
The reason for our result is simple. This season we have used most of our squad week in week out, however last night John went with (in his opinion) his strongest 5 twice, with the exception of 1 player. So he dropped 4 players to try and make sure we got the result neede. We should have actually won 9-1. I lost my second frame by potting the black and white and Krish balls up 3 dollies with 2 shots. |

Poor show Billy - have you Ever known us not to try in the 3 or 4 seasons we've been playing you lot now?
Do you think that we would risk our own relegation by not trying - dont you realise, had you scored one more point it would have been us being relegated...
I apprieciate that this site is used as a sounding board, but you lot should take stock today, finish eating your sour grapes then if you still have something to say, grow some balls and pick up the phone - my numbers on the secretaries contact list... |

I must get the News of the World on Sunday ! Hopefully the truth about this dodgy result may be revealed ! I personally think that Shaggy and Sean shared a bed at a seedy hotel in the district of Croydon or maybe Lewisham and agreed a mutually beneficial result before they closed their eyes ! Obviously,if the NOTW didn't record the whole meeting,I am prepared to withdraw these allegations, mainly because I haven't got a shred of evidence, only hearsay !! |

The only thing I know about this game is that Andy 'Nicest Bloke in the Pool League' Bentley wasn't playing for the 193s. If he had it would have been 12-0. |

That's bang out of order Pat. . .
I'd never use a seedy room to seduce Shaggs. . . It was a suite of the highest order. I fed him fruit and had my way.
In all seriousness though, lads. . . Do you really think we'd conspire to rig a result??? Seriousley ????
I think you know us all well enough to realise that the very idea is absurd.
I honestly think if I ever even suggested the idea to Shaggy, let alone Andy T, Karl, Ray and Shane, I'd be told in no uncertain terms to F*** Off !!!!
I'd never entertain the idea, and as you can tell from Andy's post above, neither would he, and I can assure you, nor would any of the other lads for the 193's ot the Oakies who I know very well.
To suggest that a team of Shaggy, Mickey Porter, Steve Lee, Porky and Scouse winning 10-0 is dodgy is insulting to them !!! Especially with home advantage.
If they had that 5 week in / week out, they'd be top 3.
I'm sorry you guys got relegated, I'm sorry we were utterly torn apart by a great Oakies performance on tuesday, but that's exactly what happened. . . Zero dodgyness. ZERO.

Nobody is suggesting for one moment that there was anything dodgy going on. I would be the first person to say that's balls. All i'm saying is that the 193's had nothing to play for, and to me that reflects the result. Yes i'm disappointed, but we only have ourselves to blame. We shouldnt have been relying on anyone else.

i think cue balls post hopefully closes this discussion as he quite
rightly said ultimately over the season you control your own destiny and relegation never comes down to one match its what you do over the full season! shame you guys lost out on the final standings but thats how it goes i guess.
well done to the eden lads btw deserved winners.

we may need a bigger boat..! |

To Andy, Sean, Shaggy and all the other guys involved in this match. Like Paul, no way would i question anyones integrity or think that anyone conspired to rig this result. Its just that 10 nil seemed so unlikely given previous results. I take on board though that the oakies have quality players that havent been turning up previously. End of the day though we werent good enough over the season - end of story. |
