D.O.G. 6-4 Seamen

A result that ensured mathematical safety, even though the reality was that we were already safe....

One oddity though....Frame 9 break off....balls spread, one goes down, cue ball off the table. Ref calls "foul 2 shots". My response is "2 shots rerack", to which I get told "we've never done that"

Looking at the world rules sheet, there is no specific item that deals with this instance. There is a rule that states "cue ball off table gives 2 shots", and coupled with the break off rule that gives 2 shots as a rerack, gives the conclusion drawn...

The question is twofold....

1. Is this correct? I believe it is, but if someone knows better, I need to learn...

2. If it is, then why are there several teams that are unaware of this?

Comments please....

Waddon Misfits 2 - 8 Beechtree

A good way to bring the Beechtree era to and end, with a very comprehensive win Grin Went 1-0 down, ran out the next 4 to take the first set 4-1.

Second set went 7-1 up, Misfits took the 9th and we run off the 10th to make it a good last night night for the Beechtree in its current guise. We split now, to form the Revolution and the New Breed.

Good way to end the season, cheers for the hospitality from the Misfits last night, and good luck going forward in Coulsdon handshake

Thicket Tavern 4-6 See You Next Tuesday

We started the evening one point above Forum 'B' needing to match their result at worst in order to avoid relegating with the lads from the Waddon.

See You Next Tuesday started the evening one point below Untouchables intent upon repeating their 10-0 drubbing of The Thicket earlier in the season.

As it turned out, a 10-0 wouldn't have been enough with Untouchables winning 9-1 with more matches won, but they were not to know that, and we had to play some superb pool in order to pi$$ on their fireworks!

Having picked up 4 points we had to wait to hear word from the Forum's game against Wandering Dogs. Forum had been 4-1 down at half-time, and then we heard that they'd pulled it back to 5-4 down with one to play....

If Forum won it, they'd be level on points, and ahead on games drawn!

Finally the news filtered through that their match had finished 6-4 and after 180 games over 18 matches, Thicket had avoided relegation by one game. It's tough luck for the Forum 'B' lads, who beat us 6-4 at their place a few weeks ago, and gave us a dogfight right to the death. Hopefully they'll get shuffled back up next summer and we can do it all again.

Finally, commiserations to the Next Tuesdays, who brings bags of talent and experience to the table, as well as knowing how to sink a few beers and enjoy their Tuesday evenings! Hopefully they'll get shuffled up to Division III next summer, as to be fair they are far too good to remain as a IV side next summer.

The Untouchables 9-1 The Oak
ill start of with... this result was what we were needing anything less and we give our title to see u next tuesday , who i have to say at 1 point having a 17 point lead over them crawled back to within 1 point of us, we have not been able to field our strongest players each week but last night we were at full strengh.. unlucky to the oak who did have only four players but were really up for this, making us work hard for the result, am not sure how see u next tuesday got on but even if they won 10 - nil that would leave us level on points, but as they have lost 2 matches and we aint means title goes to us, have to take my hat of to them coming back strong over the last few weeks and grinding out some strong results well done handshake.. i have to say i have enjoyed playing each team in this league its been a great summer league roll on next season .... i would like to thank all my players who have turned up and played... nel jardim, stacy redman, mark ramsay , grant westbrook , richard colburn, jan zalenski, joel bullen, danny brown, alan (sick-note) memhet and made this a winning season but special mention has to go yet again to nel who as captain has the task of picking the team which a few players have been upset by not getting picked ... but what u have to remember there is no i in team and thats what we are a great up coming team ... all the best for the up and coming winter season you guys trophyone
am not sticking my acheivements down the list is too long lmao surrender

It is only (and always) a re-rack if it is a foul break, i.e less than four object balls hit cushions, and none are potted.

The above scenario is not a re-rack.
