Must admit a bit of a surprise how many didn't turn up to collect their trophies, as well as enjoying each Mon/Tues to me it's the reward for good play.
FAO Lee Mannister - Mark 'Banman' has take yours home for safekeeping - it was that or i went to charity mate, so please see Mark |

True, but I didn't even know when it was, there was no thread about it. If the league wants more participation then things like this need to be advertised.
Paul had to start a thread on here in order to find out when it was! |

Agree with you there. I only realised that the presentation might have been last night at about an hour before when I saw someone's facebook update.
Glad I went though and very nice indeed of Mark to recognise my achievements. |

I have to agree, the turn out last night was very poor, not good as it is one of the main dates in the pool calendar.
I knew some people could not make it, due to other commitments etc.. but on the other hand, it was not advertised at all on the web site, until late on Friday, pretty poor and things like this need to be advertised.
Finally it was great to see Scott & Ian pick up their trophies for the 2nd season running as Undisputed Scotch Doubles Winners.

The people at fault for 'lack of advertising' are the team Secretaries. The information is sent out to all Secretaries ages in advance but if they don't tell their team then there's no point pointing the finger at others.
No doubt several of the trophies that went off to charity last night may well have been collected if the intended recipients had been told about it but, if that's the case, they need to take it up with their own Secretary for not telling them about it. |

Ally, you are absolutely spot on!! This website now has exactly 350 members, and I know a lot of people who view it but don't always log in. There should have been some sort of advertisement, and I think it was only down to Paul's post that it was even mentioned at all. Why was this?
Maybe the secretaries could do more, but the example must come from the very top!! I certainly would have attended with greater notice - (obviously for the beer, no trophies!! lol) |

My team?s secretary never knew it was presentation until I reminded her over MSN Friday night. And that was just hours after finding out myself from former teammates.
Still, having only expected two trophies, it was a very pleasant surprise getting the Croydon ?B? medal as well... I never knew about that one!

Losing eyes this game is cruel. I do my thing playing pool.

Chuckie, I told Cathy it was presentation when she text me on Friday....
I agree with Fat Dart...the notification goes out several weeks in advance...on the league sheets...maybe some people don't read them properly...
Furthermore, if people were really that interested in presentation night, they would ask....there are phone numbers for the committee on the top of every result sheet....why do people have to wait for Saxton to start a thread? If I'd won a trophy (unlikely, I know) I'd be banging down doors to find when presentation night is....there is no excuse for apathy!!!! |
