Alan Mehmet 3 - Tom Telford 1

If Carlsberg made pool players they would play like me.
Before Snickers
After Snickers |

Hughie postponed our game as he was in Ireland and could not make it last night. We will play our game next Monday. |

Hold on a minute guys,
How can Angela win 2 - 0 ?
It's best of 5. A mistake I almost made whilst watching over Corinne's & Rebecca's match untill advised by both of them.
Having checked the papers, they were correct.
Not sure what Angela and her apponent will have to do now.
It would be interesting to find out what happens now. |

It would be interesting to find out what happens now. Simple... Angela will play Sarah... Think you will find its very common for players to agree to play, 3, 5, 7, Frames at any stage of the Competition... I have seen the best of 11 played in the early rounds when, it was the best of 3... Why would any of us care if thats what the 2 players agree...???

Was only asking.
I think when I go to the next AGM I will bring up a brilliant point on how to save the league money.
"Don't buy ink" to advise how many frames a match should be played, when after all we do what players want and not what is stated.
If who ever it is reaches the final what will it be then when there will be an adjudicator and spectators ?
Good luck in the remainder. |

Dianne won't be contesting this one or asking to play the extra frame. Both players are friends and Dee is in Australia with me for the next round so she'd only have to give an NBW to Sarah anyhow.
Match played, result finalised- Gingella plays in the next round.
Any other problems anyone needs solving? Maybe I should tackle 3rd world debt next or cold fussion...

Does seem pretty odd to shorten the match distance though . . . |

Hughie beat me 4 - 3 in our quarter final match last night. He played really well, especially in the early parts of the game and deserved his win in the end. Well played mate and good luck in the semi final. |

It was a mix-up. A certain person in their team, possibly the sec, might have told them it was best of 3.
Not that I want to accuse anyone of anything...Hehe.

To be honest, I think all singles should be a best of 5 in the early rounds, and then a best of 7 in the Quarters, Semis etc..
Playing a best of 3, is a short sprint and not ideal. |

shorter distance evens it up a bit - so that the lesser player can beat the better player....the longer the distance the less chance of an upset
HOW LONG LEFT ? |
