Flying machine 7 - 3 beechtree
could of been more, but then again they could of nicked a couple off us. All in all a good solid start from everyone. |

loyalists 4 - 6 maple tree
A good night, some smart pool played by most winning players from both squads (some luck as will always be), best of luck to the maple guys for the season. |

enjoyable 1st match last night against the loyalists! they looked like they was going to kick our butts at 3-1 up after some shocking misses! but the spellar clan turned the tide for us and we managed to close it out 6-4! good bunch of lads the loyalists so best of luck for the season!

we may need a bigger boat..! |

No complaints from our side with the result. First time we've played in Div 3 since the re-formation of the team a few years back. As Dogger says, couldv'e been 9-1, could've been 5-5.

Just a note, i started to to the stopwatch, but realised that no one was gettin remotly close to 30 seconds so stopped using it. first half was done by 9:05, were about to start frame 8 at 9:15 so just decided to have a break as wanted the night to last a bit longer, finished all games by 9:50.
shows how much impact the stopwatch has on the length of an evening. Jack.

I agree with you. The stopwatch is a complete waste of time in local league pool. It's not how long shots take to play - it's the number of shots required to win a frame.
For example in my frame last night I went for a tricky pot, rattled it but covered the bag. My opponent tries to get his ball inside my ball to take the pocket but failed to do so leaving it in front of my ball and close to touching. Noone tried to be negative to create that position but once it occurred the frame became tactical and took a good 20 minutes to complete - at no point in the frame was 30 seconds called - stopwatch = waste of time! |

Oakie Cokies 5 - 5 Folly, 4 nil up...chances thrown away by both sides. Fair play to the folly for digging in and grabbing a draw. |

Good game against the Oakie Cokies last night. At 0-4 we were facing a good thrashing and so needed a bit of luck to get back into it. We got more than our fair share of that and am sure were more pleased with the draw then the Oakie's. Cheers lads. See you later in the season. |
