A very late night for me last night, and an early start prevented me from posting.
Goat Specials 3 - Farley Untouchables 7
I really dont belive we cared about the result and probably belived we would get the result needed. But saying that this game could have been a draw or a harsh 6-4 to the goat. Goat player very unlucky by potting the black ball and the cueball in BOTH his frames
Good night in all, and some great football for the neutral
And Sass, I did win my secretarys.... Was pleased with how i did, As i broke dry and Goat Sec had a visit and on my return i dished up, And im sure you know how tough that table can be ?
Sass...a 6-4 loss.... what happened ladies ??? But then im still thinking you will get 5th as Untouchables next games is Forum B.

Congrats on winning the secretaries. Assuming Dennis won last night I think I need to win next Tuesday to take the runners up spot.
The Goat's table is just slow and a nightmare to break on. When we played there a couple of weeks back we elected to give the break away whenever we won the toss and I don't think a single ball was potted off the break all night.
The table at the Earl of Eldon was a nightmare to play on. Red cloth, blue balls, small table - all that I can live with. What I can't be doing with is a table where you can't even stand properly around most of it - let alone play a shot with your own cue. No disrespect to the pub but surely there is a better place to put a pool table than where it was situated?
That said it was a good evening and if we'd nicked a draw we'd have been happy. |

young guns 7-3 view to b killed
to be fair we should of won 10-0 but one of our players is havin a bad 2nd half of the season
to be honest we took the piss out of the view by all of us playing like it was a fun knock about with people that have never played before this may sound harsh but the view need to think moreabout the rules and not pottin the easy balls all the time
if someone played like that against us we would of walked out.i think you may be suffering from 2nd half blues
sorry for the piss take
good luck next year
p.s sorry about the food

Sounds like you need to start winning with a bit more class Chav. Has it occured to you that you are playing in div 5 and some people are newer to the league/game than you and are either learning or not quite taking it as seriously as you? You won't see any of the better teams in the league behave as you describe above.

Fair enough you apologised though. Your player that cost you the 10-0 must be having a shocker losing 3 times!

Well the view teams rarely post on here but i thought a reply was needed to the young guns. First thanks to the coneycueiest for the comments and your dead right for the view pub this is our first season in the winter league. Both teams are learning but one thing we seem to know is win or lose to have a bit of dignity and respect. We dont boast when we win heavy like view a did in the youngs back yard 9-1 i think (maybe that day you had a laugh to).We also dont sulk like you did about that result on here the next day and we didnt even bother responding when you called us lucky. In fact when we got beat 9-1 by the farley even though we were gutted we shock hands and said well played and took it gracefully just like we did against the oak last week. Anyway good luck for the rest of the season. |

I'm obviously not an expert on the rules unlike the young guns but I didn't see anything in there about not being allowed to pot your own balls unless this is from the same rule book that they used when calling a foul when one hasn't been commited as they did in our first game. We let that go at the time as it is only supposed to be a fun game and we didn't want to make an issue of it so I'm not sure why they are bringing up about the rules again.Maybe rather than memorising the rule book they should try learning some social skills. Everyone else we have played this season have been as good as gold and we have always had a good evening. I realise that we aren't the best but we only lost 7-3 so if we are really that crap you're not really that much better. |

We really enjoyed playing both the View teams this season. I started the girls team to get the girls who joined it some regular pool. That's what it's all about at the end of the day. We really enjoy our pool and you guys do too. That is what is important. |

I didn't really want to get involved in this and I will be speaking to Chav tonight as I think he has got carried away with his post.............but as the responses seem to be directed at the entire Young guns I have the following comments...........the point of us treating the night as a fun knock about was in my opinion to relieve the pressure off some of our players in match pool to see if that method would better our results after some shockers..............it was in no way meant to disrespect the View or any other team, If the View or anybody think this or the View say it came across as this then I apologise unreservedly...........at the end of the day if i was any good at pool I would be making money out of it instead of going to work everyday .............all I want to do is turn up enjoy my match, have a good evening and have a laugh.........Sass hit the Nail on the head with her comment ....................I will be reconsidering my future with the Young guns as I feel my own conduct and behavior as been called into question and do not want to be associated with this kind of reputation and will be seeking assurances that this will not be reoccuring!!
