Not the result I was looking for scott....but magnum force will be pleased to hear it....

Magnum Force 5-5 The Seamen

After the first 3 frames we were staring at a bad luck bashing....example being in frame 2 druncan went to pot a ball, it hit the back of the pocket, flew into the air, bounced on the table, then dropped clean into the corner pocket diagonally opposite....3-0 down....won a scrappy 4th, got a 7-baller in the fifth...only 3-2 down...good clearance in the sixth, nice win in the 7th...now 4-3 up!!!!Shockmfg:

Contentious situation in the 8th...our player failed to get out of a snooker, resulting in a foul snooker....their player asked for everything EXCEPT "foul snooker" and was given the benefit of the doubt....after all everyone knew what he meant....and then proceeded to pick up the cue ball WITHOUT asking the ref..and cleared upswear...4-4....battered in the 9th, but won a battle of df's in the last...5-5Grin

A tough battle that meant we didn't finish till 11.25...full respect to my team for scrapping....but Magnum Force were not giving anything away....

An enjoyable night - thanks guys, and good luck for the rest of the season!handshake

Rack Pack 9 - 1 Coach & Horses

Probably could and should have been 10 - 0 but we would have bitten your arm off for a 9 - 1 at the beginning of the night.

Imps beat the SAS 9 - 1 too. I'm sure Martin will elaborate on that....?

Farley Loyalists 5-5 Forum ?A?

A night of draws it seems!!, with everything really, we were 2-1 up, 5-3 down, plus 2 x 8 ball dishes from the break, one from each team, which is very rare to see.

Looks a cert that the Forum A lads will be in div 1, great bunch of lads and best of luck for the next few remainding games!!

blah blah blah

You're having a laugh - pleased to hear it?

5-5 is not pleasing from 3-0 up. And when I potted that ball that jumped in the air it knocked the ball I had covering the pocket in - giving me a disadvantage. Besides, as you said it came off "the back of the pocket" - ie. I f***ing potted it.

As for the "7 balling" you refer to. nice double - oh no wait that was meant to be a triple right?

Don't talk to me about luck - bad luck is drawing from 3-0 up with a stronger team.

Sorry to bite on this one but you need to have a think about that post - every game that you won was a "nice win" and every game that we won was "bad luck"

As for the "contentios situation" the shadow ref was ok with it (i did ask) and had he voiced complaint I would have called a foul - although everyone in the room knew it wasn't one.

The Warbank were 3-0 down so a 5-5 we happily took!

It was a good game yesterday. The Seamen have got some good players and if some of them played to their potental (Luke) they would be a lot higher up. It's always a disappointment to chuck away a good lead but I think a draw was a fair result on the night and I'm glad we didn't lose to much ground in the promotion chase.

Good Luck to The Seamen for the rest of the season

Martin, I think both of us are guilty of looking at our team thru rose-tinted glasses....

your ball bouncing round the table could quite easily have gone off the table...result of that is ball is replaced near the black spot, two shots to oncoming player....although the situation is freakish, it's even freakier that it ended up in the pocket. You even said yourself at the end of the frame that our guy was unlucky....

As for frame 8, I had mentioned that we all knew what he meant...although I have seen Gary Swettenham refuse to award the foul snooker because the terminology was incorrect...the referee needs to be asked for the pick up, which didn't happen, and why was Miq first to comment at the end about what should have happened?

I see where you're coming from re bad luck/nice win....having read it in the cold light of day, it does look a bit like that...although the comment for frame 9 does buck that trend....

In truth, I would have been happy to pick up 3 frames, so I understand your discontent at the result....but I thought you would have been pleased that the Warbank didn't get more....

Anyway...I'm sure you guys will be back to winning ways next week...good luck!
