According to the paperwork, it's best of 5.

Maybe in future seasons the finals night could be made into a social evening for people not playing.

That way everyone can meet up have a few beers and a bit of a catch up and then get to watch 2 top players battle it out. Doesn't sound like a bad night to me! Plus if you get to the finals then you probably warrant an audience!

Just a thought... juggling

It was an edgy final with neither player playing their best. Gary missed a black in the middle to win it and he'll be having nightmares for years to come over that one. He left Sean in and Sean didn't look like he was gonna miss the couple of balls and black remaining.

Just out of interest. What was the turn out spectator wise?

That isn't too bad. Still think the final should be held on Presentation night.

It wasn't bad. I think the Finals should stay as they are. The crowd put off both players at times and it would be a lot worse at a Presentation Evening.

I'm also a fan of playing it on presentation night, but it does cause a logistical nightmare.
Also, the way the league works, presentation night is usually well into the next season.
You'd have the Summer League Singles & Doubles finals being played in January of the following year for instance.

But I think it would be worth it. Evans raved about it, said it was one of his favourite pool experiences (When he played The Thriller last season on presentation night)

Felt for Gary really. Once it was 2-2 and Sean missed position ended up giving away 2 shots you felt it was Gary's match. Unfortunately, he missed a trickyish black in the middle and Sean wasn't going to let another opportunity slip.

We both played really poor and I just fell over the line in the end. I agree that the singles should be on presentation night also. It was sooooo quiet last night that you could here farts and all sorts lol. With a bigger a crowd and a constant buzz of noise it would be much better, but saying that you can't beat th
e atmosphere in the farley with just the light over the table for finals.

In the Tolworth league, we hold our singles final on presentation night and it is a great success.

The players wear a waistcoat etc and come into their choice of music. We play best of 9. The atmosphere is great as well. We have always had a great turnout. 70+ minimum. The table is situated with chairs all around it for spectators to watch.
