bromley cuemasters 6-4 london slates.

enjoyable match tonight against the slates boys who were perhaps a bit unlucky not to get a draw! a few frames could easily have gone the other way but after last weeks drubbing by the eden it was nice to get a win in before the xmas break.

Pond Qs 9 - 1 Bloodhounds

What a depressing night of pool....again. How can we go from a terrific win against the Eden on Monday to this rubbish on Tuesday? I actually got us a 1-0 lead and then it just went downhill from there. Even in the final game, I was quite happily clearing up, and then I over-ran my position on the final yellow, when I quite literally could have landed in any other part of the table and been on it!

Must also give credit to Daneau, Rawlings and Nannery - three excellent dishes. But could quite easily have won the others.

Bring on the winter break- hopefully a few more of the team will make themselves available more often after xmas!

(Quote my location - never more!)

Pond Q's 9 Bloodhounds 1 A great response from us following the extremely fortuitous Propeller victory on Monday evening. I still cannot comprehend how they scraped themselves off the floor to fall over the winning-line. It made a refreshing change to have the run of the ball last night which can often be the difference between defeat and victory. Let's hope that the good fortune continues and we can begin to climb the table.

I can't believe it, but I thoroughly agree with what Mr Pondlife has just posted!Shock:

I really rate the Pond Qs top 5 players, and feel that they should quite easily be mid-table! hugs

Not at the match last night, but my vice Captain seemed very upset with the end result. Appears we fell short on a couple of frames with some poor shot selections. At 3-1 up, we got tagged back and pulled out a draw.

The Jolly is never an easy venue to go to and dig out a result, and a number of sides will no doubt get turned over up there this season. So overall we'll take a draw and it's not too sad a result for us.

Last night saw an Eden debut for our new signing, Rob McDonnell. Only taken us 3 years to sign him, and he is a class addition so it'll be worth the wait. winking And good to hear Fieldsy was back in the Eden line-up. Just need to get Scott Lansing back now & playing regularly.

5th place going into the Christmas & New Year break is good considering we have not had a fixture this season where I've had the full squad available.

Table wise it's looking tight at the top & the back end fixtures in the 1st half will be interesting with the top 3 all meeting each other. It's pretty compact around the mid-table area so still plenty of work for us and others to do in the New Year to get clear of the drop zone.

I totally agree with you Paul. It was an extremely clinical performance following our players very unfortunate in-off the break. This allowed Wayne to grab the early initiative, which he did with both hands !! What I am saying is that he should never have been given the opportunity to produce the winning performance in a play-off. The match should have been over long before that was allowed to happen.
