Cheers Dan, thats confirmed one of mine.
I hope the Rocket behaved!
He did mate, although he was his usual self a bit later on. Had Cliff Mills been around too i reckon they could have heard the noise the other end of Purley Way! |

I was down to play Allan Goodall of the Patriots yesterday, but since he has apparently pulled out of the singles, my secretary had informed me that I had won by default and that I had no need to show up. You can imagine my surprise when I got a call at around 9pm from some other guy on his team who wants to play me instead of him because his secretary didn't put him down for the singles! So after I was told I had won my match I am now not so sure. I don't mind playing the guy, but can someone clarify if he will be allowed into the draw for me please? There's no point in us playing and then finding out that he won't be allowed in. Sorry I can't remember his name - does anyone know? |

The Patriots had a change of secretary before the season started and not all players were entered initially by the original secretary. I was informed by the new secretary that Alan Goodall wished to withdraw from the comp but at that time Paul Richards had not actually signed for them so for obvious reasons he was not aware at that time that this player wanted to enter the comp. I notified your secretary immediately to save you wasting your time in travelling to the venue. At the end of the day, its your call as to whether you are prepared to play Paul Richards and if you do then I will endorse his late entry ... if not then you will go through to the 2nd round. Can you let me know whats occuring before I circulate the result sheets & tables tomorrow because that will list all outstanding 1st Round Singles results. |
