frames aces had 3 pros in there team,I think we were very unlucky with our draw, to go 5-2 up against them was almost unbelivable but 3x8 ball dishes later we were fighting a losing battle.Looked around at some of the other teams playing in the last 32 and with a slightly kinder draw I think we could have gone a long way.On the plus side I think the Eagles played brilliant all day with some really intelligent play and some really sick dishes,it's probably the best Ihave ever seen the Eagles play from 1-7 I was really proud of the way we played just bad luck to play the frames aces(are they really a league team)?

Sounds like you didn't get the luck in the draw, Sir Tony Nuttman. 3 pro's in their team - sounds like a sick pub team!

Good effort by Eagles and also Hot Shots who I hear made the last 16 going out 9-7 to Green Baize - who in turn went on to win it.

The Hot shots did really well to get 7 frames off of the overall winners that really was a brilliant effort.

Hot Shots actually led that match 7-5 but were unable to get over the line. In the 3 frame play off Sean was broke and dished against and Rod had a dry break which got dished.

Very tough way to go out and I know they are gutted about it especially after last year's high.

I was up there with several Croydon players to contest the National Ladies Interleague Cup. Myself, Stacey, Donna, Keely and Louise O'Neill played for the London Angels while Sarah King, Sue Studman and Carly Newman played for London Devils.

Sadly neither team progressed from their groups, however I was really pleased to see my team (Angels) beat one of the pre-tournament favourites Bucks Bunnies in what was frankly a horrible group. We finished with 2 wins and 2 losses but missed out on the knockout stages on frame difference to the Bunnies. Fantastic effort from a team where more than half of the players had never played pool at Yarmouth before.

Great confidence boost and something to build on for next time around. I can't wait for the next one!

I can only comment on the Eagles, as I didn't get to see any of the other teams play.

I thought everyone in our side played brilliant, but we came up against an excellent side who excelled against us when it mattered.

4 frames on the spin where I think we got 2 visits between us knocked the wind from our sails. They were awesome.
We still took them all the way though, and they needed the 14th frame to beat us, so no shame in it.

It was gutting at the time, but in hindsight it was a solid performance, I can say hand on heart we didn't let anybody down.

i'm not saying last 32 & last 16 are close but when you only just lose to probably the 2nd best team and yourselves only just losing in a play-off to the best team i'd say that's pretty close... you give give yourself a little more credit!
