I am sure the Hot Shots would rather have the Clarkes in the team to provide a bit of competition for places and strengthen the team. And I agree with Nuttmeg about benchwarmers getting fed up with having splinters in their arses. |

I am pretty certain Nutts will play the 7 players that he considers to be the 1st team so to speak week in week out, and the only people that arent guaranteed a game are Tom and Tony himself. Tom is in his first full winter league, and where many have experieced winning in lower divisions to gain confidence he is being pitched right in.
The Eden is not the place for a 14 year old to play his first competitive winter game. However I have no doubt that he will play a number of League games, and 2 games in both the k/o and league cup.
I am glad theProp have gone with a 9 man policy, its a no brainer that Morray plays twice, and I would suspect when it settles down the Hot Shots will do the same but ensuring that Rod and Sean get 2 each every week.

have to laugh at the above posts! all these people weeks ago saying how if 2x5 got voted in they would deffo play there full squad to give everyone one a game and here we are 1 week into the season and thats all gone out the window ?
More to the point though, we had 5 in week 1 and 6 this week, which proves why we needed the 2x5 format to be voted in. Muppet. |

just to clarify, my previous post was in no way directed at the eagles.
it was a general comment based on teams taking the winter league more serious and therefore will not want to risk fringe players as much.
i can see a situation in 2-3 years time when most teams only have squads of 6/7 players with same 5 playing 90% of games. Given the comments on so called benchwarmers not staying around it will be interesting to see how this unfolds.... |

If that happens surely the squad size will fall, league fees will come down pro rata and more teams will enter. |
