Hot Shots 5 - 2 Bloodhounds

We gave the Shots a good game tonight - it could have been even closer, if I hadn't missed a straight black against Altes! Absolutely shocking!! I heard the Eagles did enough to take the title - well done Danny and the boys.

Must give a mention to our secretary (Nelio) who has worked all season to get himself in contention for the prize, and then lost in about 90 seconds to a Halligan 7-baller!!

You're still our player of the season, mate!!Shockne:

The Mighty Eden 4 Unpreds 3

Another good performance and a very good natured game. Roll on the League cup Semi Final.

btw is the semi on monday or tuesday given that the league fixtures on this site are wrong?

Loved watching the bum squaeking final game in the loyalists match, awful pool the whole way through but the loyalists won it to seal the tilte. Awesome atmosphere at the Farley with all the Farley teams cheering on the loyalists and the forum in the background watching closely!

Eagles 4 patriots 3 tonight was obviously going to be squeaky bum time as we were desperate to win the 1st div (we have been turning up so short in the cups I have been playing) to add to the tension Graham Thompson played the best I have ever seen him play to bt Kyle then Danny played a great shot to put himself in a frame winning position only to hold his hand up and say" I fouled"nobody else had seen it, followed by a great dish. At 2-0 down we were sh1tting ourselves but then Shaggy appears on a mission obviously nervous for the team but making up for two lack of possi shots with massive reverse cuts including a sick cut on the black. Esgrove and Hughie were absolutely massive so Sean was then allowed to muck about as we had won the league. 1. The hotshots are a fantastic side,to win the 1st div with them in the league was a massive acheivement 2. I have been in the Eagles side for 24 years now and I love the current side more than I have loved any other Eagles side. 3.yes I'm gay.Not really Brian.Shockne:Shockne:Shockne:Shockne:Shockne:

Nail on the head from our leader Nutts. . . . .

The Hotshots are a fantastic team, so to pip them to the post is an immense achievement in my opinion.

Over 22 league games, we beat the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th placed teams, both home and away, it was close, it was exciting, but most of all, as was last year, it was an honour to do battle with the Hotshots.
They are truly great side, and I hope they stay together for the rematch next winter.

HUGE shout out for Evans . . .

Knowing that if he wins, he wins the individuals, a frame for his league chasing team, and maybe the No.1 Ranking aswell. . . .

And he calls a foul on himself that the ref didn't see, that probably nobody saw except him.

It's great to see some integrity under such circumstances, and I'm proud that he did. I know most of us would have done the same, but it's nice to see it in such an important frame/match, at the very highest level of our league.

We absolutely feel over the line.... But winning leagues should never be easy, especially when its against the National Champions. Particularly pleased for Kelly for his first ever 1st Division League title.

Congratulations to the Eagles for regaining their title from the Hot Shots ! I was very worried that they might fold ,following their eviction from the high class Red Deer public house. However the other tenants in Rileys,Purley took them to their hearts and welcomed them to their new venue. They have responded in wonderful fashion which culminated in their victory last night. In an effort to escape from the noise, we are now contemplating a move to the quiet Red Deer !! laughing

Congratulations to the Eagles, worthy champions guys. bow

Hot Shots took it to the wire with the Clarkes re-appearing regularly in the 2nd half of the season with a late surge and the Eagles stumbling over the winning line. Game of the season has to be next Tuesday when both sides come face to face over a distance match in the League Cup SF.

Eden rolled over our neighbours last night 4-3. The Unpredictables, bless them, came with a new gameplan which had nothing to do with their pool on the table but as an attempt to ''out roar'' the Eden. Terry Poynter's attempt to do so wasn't too bad. TP needs to fine tune some of the high pitched squeaks in between his roar but give the boy some credit as listening from the balcony at the Theatre of Dreams it was not a bad effort.

Quick word of congratulations for Scott Lansing to win a tough battle last night against Knocky. Scott took out a really great pressure black. Scott has been awesome all season, and played some amazing pool. He has never been reknown as a devasting finisher but he is solid, develops a chance and reads the game as well as anyone in this league. Commiserations to Golden and to call a foul on himself would not surprise any of us as he has always been a true sportsman.

Well done Bromley Cuemasters on a great season - especially considering you've struggled to field a full squad for many of your games! clapping

well done the eagles a thoroughly deserved title.

Just want to take this opportunity to thank all of the site team and all those involved in organising the league (Mainly Mark for his sterling work).

The introduction of the site has undoubtedly improved pool in croydon and long may it continue.

Last night saw the Coney bow out with a bit of mixed evening but fun was had none the less and at least we ended with a win!

Good luck to all in the League Cup

thanks gary, been tough season and last night was the 1st match i have enjoyed for a long time purely because we had a full 7 players and for once we didnt start 0-2 or 0-3 down. the lads have done well this year because of players work and family commitments we really only have 4-5 regular players. no idea what the future holds for the team as that is really down to the individuals but the team needs to be strenghened i personally feel as division 1 is getting harder each season.

Well done to the ego's - Champs again Shockne: huge game next week for both them & hot shots - could be a classic encounter if they both turn up fully loaded

As usual an enjoyable evening against the Unpreds clapping

Only thing we were interested in was Scott Lansing winning & giving himself a chance of the divisional singles - something he deserves as he has played consistant pool all year...

Special word for Danny Evans who has called a foul on himself when some may not - all class Danny applause applause

What happens now a Play-off or do they share it confused
Also heard a rumour that Rod is saying the ? in his league games were wins (Missing cards i guess) - what is the rule on that as i guess anyone can say they won with no proof wall

Looking forward to next week's semi against the prop & have enjoyed a good season in what was a typically strong Div 1

No proof needed, i'm sure if you beat Rod you would remember it.

Congratulations to the Eagles, and well done Hotshots, both teams have had a fantastic season.

On a personal note, it's the end for The Coney, so i want to say thanks to everyone i have played against and every team we encountered. Not forgetting the backroom staff that make it all possible. I suppose i should also mention this site and the hours of banter that keeps people amused.

Well done all, oh and i do have some bad news... I'll be back!!ner ner

I forgot to mention that Danny could have played at no. 7 last night to guarentee individuals and the ranking trophy as they only had 5 but he wouldn't have any of that.Top bloke
