Thought it was pretty good at the Manor. Bit different than having it held @ Riley's. Do think Rileys is more appropriate to host this though.

was a very good night, mick o d must have been the hapiest there, dont agree that it should be held at rileys due to there not being enough tables and chairs.i personally would like it to go back to crystal palace but i know that there is some cost involued and as the manor is free it will probibly never change.what about langly sports club.(upstairs)
is certainly big enough.

It wasn't for me I'm afraid and hence why I didn't stay.

I guess you can't please everybody but I would expect there to be some food available if you are going to spend an evening somewhere.

I think its a bit sad if the reason the league celebration is held somewhere is thats it's free !!!. Surely the league has enough money to put a really good evening on for the league players, make a really big deal of the night, if it did then a lot more might turn up who were not collecting trophies, just to enjoy a great evening.
because i can

The League has money, but spends all it receives, mostly on trophies....in recent years, whenever we have "moved upmarket", there has always been a cost involved, which has ultimately resulted in teams turning up with 3 players to collect trophies, not 7....

Yes, Allders was the best venue, but it ain't gonna happen again....as a league what is the point in booking a nice venue, only to have everyone f**k off as soon as they have collected the trophies....makes it a waste of everyone's time and money (proven more than once before....)

I would love to see more people stay, and that way, there would be attendance from people who aren't collecting (and I know there are teams that do attend), but it is the attitude of teams that needs to change first, not the league's budget.....when the attitude changes, the cost factor surely will.....

How about charging for the tickets again, that way the league fees won't have to go up to pay for it, the venue could be better, the entertainment could be more varied and hopefully if people have paid for the evening they may stay a little longer.
Always have a plan 'B'
Even plan 'B' has failed

Wasn't much evidence of money being spent on my trophy. I've won the same trophy 3 years in a row and it's got progressively smaller each year ( like Russian dolls laughing ) and the one I was given this year was damaged. The presentation night over the same period has got progressively worse although it did peak at Rileys in terms of atmosphere.

That's rubbish. Put something good on - people will come and people will stay. Put something crap on they won't. Why on earth should people 'show willing' at a mediocre event in a bid to earn a better one?

Trophies are exactly the same. Non collected trophies, boxed and stored. Change of name plack and ready for next presentation. Job done. Nothing wrong with that. Credit crunch and all that.

I am considerably younger than most of this sites users. Therefore I was never fortunate enough to attend a presentation at Allders. I think that I was probably doing my homework at that time. The best one that I've ever attended was at Crystals in Selhurst Park. We had a fantastic band and the whole evening was hilarious. The League should definitely charge an entrance fee, even to trophy recipients ,and provide an evening to remember. Could we not make one of the lay committee members responsible for presentation night organisation ?
