Croydon Qualifier for the Riverside Amateur Players Championship
On Sunday 15th June I will be running a qualifier at Riley’s Purley Way for the Riverside Amateur Players Championship which takes place on 25-27 July at Riverside Pool Club, Ware, Hertfordshire.

The winner of the main event will pick up £1600 from a £6400 prize fund (subject to entries). Direct entry for the Main Event is £100; however, you can take part for just £12.50 by qualifying locally. The qualifier requires a minimum of 8 players to go ahead and there will be one Croydon representative in the main event for every 8 players who take part.

In a similar format to the main event, the qualifier will be best of 3 sets with each set being best of 7 frames, but if the match goes to the final set, then it must be won by 2 clear frames.
Registration is from 11.30am with the competition starting at midday. You can pay in advance at the club if you wish.

This qualifier is open to all amateurs except for former professionals who are welcome to enter the main event but must do so by buying in direct for £100. This is the same for all the qualifiers being held across the country.

It’s not often you have the opportunity to win £1600 for the price of a few beers so why not give it a go?

Entry Form and Full Details of the Riverside Amateur Championship 2008

Contact Sarah Long (Sass) if you need any further information regarding the qualifier or Neil Toms for information regarding the main event.

Will we see Andy Breen defend his title of 2007 champion? Will Steve Petty retain the Juniors title or will there be a new name on the trophy this year. Will Sarah Trudgett be defending her title or will we see another new name on the winners list?

Pre-payment is required by May 8th after that you will lose your place to someone on the reserve list.

Riley's Croydon is the new home of Surrey pool and is a fitting venue to such a prestigious tournament and in partnership with Riley's they are adding £200 to the main prize fund

The Prizes
A whopping £1300 prize fund for the main event is up for grabs

A remarkable £200 Gauranteed to the winner of the Ladies and Junior comps are also available.

The more people we get in these comps the better the prize money will be.

This is the highest prize pool that Surrey have ever offered and possibly one of the highest prize pools around the country for such a small entry fee.

The value for the ladies and Junior comps is massive so spread the word far and wide and get involved
