Apologies for the number of threads with Surrey in the title, I'm honestly not trying to hijack the site, and I am consciously restricting them to topics specifically related to Croydon players...

The format of next years Surrey Tour is currently being discussed, and Suzi Q's/Rileys Imperial Way is being suggested as being added to the existing venues (Rileys Guildford and Sutton).

If it was, how many Croydon players would be interested in taking part?

I'd assume Rod, Danny, Cliff, perhaps Leon, Wayne, Kyle?

Also being discussed is option of holding two Tours, as per R7, with a 2nd tier Tour played on Saturdays, and one for the big guns on the Sunday.

To clarify, basically Surrey Tour is played about once a month, 32 players, straight KO. A number of events where you win dosh and ranking points, leading up to a seeded Grand Final played for double money.

Feel free to jibber jabber about it on here, and I'll encourage those involved in running it to get themselves registered on this site, so thay can field any questions.

I would be interested in a 2nd tier comp if the criteria allow me to enter.

I am here - the current criteria for qualification is that you must be eligible to play for Surrey at county pool. SO, if you play for another county it would count you out at this time. However as Burn stated there is a lot of discussion about it at the moment, decisions about the Tour to be made.

To clarify the current format here are the details.
5 tours plus a seeded Grand Final based on performance over the 5 tours.
First round matches best of 11, rest best of 13.
Paid down to the last 16, ie win one match and you get money.
Entry fees ?160 for current players, ?170 for newbies (?10 discount if all paid up by the first tour)
Currently played at two venues, Sutton and Guildford Rileys. If there is enough interest from the Croydon area consideration will be given to holding two of the events at Suzi Qs Imperial Way.

Play for the county you live in and it wouldn't be a problem ;)

Hiding behind red tape again Steve  . . If it makes you feel better I won't win most of the prize money like I did last time ;)

Has Burn or anyone else involved knocked up any details yet as if so get them over to me and I'll get it circulated on the site and see who's interested over this way . .

Yeah, because everyone who plays for Surrey County lives in Surrey, don't they?!!! :elol::elol::elol:

Not the point I was making Donna, which I think you know. As the rules stand you have to be eligible to play for Surrey to play on the tour. That means if you play for another county you are not eligible to play for Surrey, therefore not eligible to play on the tour.

What about Steve Harkness or Matt Cooke? Did they not play on the tour whilst playing for counties other than Surrey?

Its James Harkness.

Danny, why do you play for Rochester in interleague or for Kent?

Because I no longer wanted to play for Croydon or Surrey

Fair enough, I guess you have your reasons.
