Sadly despite one signing on the day we were a player short which did not help our cause. A combination of illness, injury and prior commitments left us with only 7 players available. Thanks Luke for stepping up and signing for us at short notice.

If any ladies want to get involved. Please get in touch with me here or via a Private Message

Speaking of interleague there was mention of getting team shirts earlier in the season. Is that still happening?

I'm only asking because it would be nice for the girls to have them for their trip to Yarmouth in November and if we need to sort something out for ourselves then we still have time to do so.

Nothing has happened re sponsored shirts but without meaning to sound disrespectful, the Croydon Ladies (at this moment in time) is self funding and not by the League. What was agreed, at the last minute, at the last general meeting was that is was ok for the Ladies to enter a team into this seasons SCPA Inter-League but as I have told you before .... you will need to table a motion requesting the Croydon Ladies be recognised as being on a par with the Croydon A's & B's re League funding as what I had to do some 29 years ago and which is now part n parcel of the League's constitution.

2016/17 League Constitution

9. CROYDON & DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE TEAM
a) Trials will be held in January of each year to determine the squad/s of 11/15 players for that year.
b) The trials are open to all League members who wish to attend.
c) Players who qualify for the team must win an average of 51% of their designated League or KO matches during the year, or have an overall Win Average of the same, to justify retaining their place within the team for the following year without having to re-trial.
d) Any ‘A’ team member who fails to attain a 51% win average will play for the ‘B’ team the following season and the highest win average ‘B’ team member/s will fill the vacant position/s.
e) All qualified Team members will receive a Commemorative Medal at the Presentation Night during that year and Silver Salvers will also be awarded to players when they have played 50, 100, 200+ frames for the team.
f) The team manager and captains positions will be elected by the team members on an annual basis.
g) The team manager and captains reserve the right to make all decisions appertaining to the general running of the team and any decisions made by them will be binding upon all team members.
h) Any player found showing forms of dissent or ungentlemanly conduct before/during or after a match will be automatically suspended from the team.

PS ... There is a committee meeting at Frames this wednesday evening along with management representatives of the venue to review the current sponsorship deal and so it maybe an idea to raise the shirts issue at that time if the sponsorship is to continue

Yes a good win for the a team and the b team must be upset losing the last 3 frames to give us the win,was a good night of pool, think a draw would have been a fair result but no draws possible.

Tempted fate by telling Swetty we would smash them up on Presentation Evening.

Not at all but it was you who told me earlier this year that you were speaking to Frames about providing shirts for all the teams which is why I asked for an update!

There hasn't been a committee meeting since the Misscues started up as you know but I will table a motion as you say.

Its not the committee you have to table the motion to but to the membership themselves and we do have an AGM coming up shortly and any proposals/motions must be with me by August 12th

Again the A's have earned the bragging rights so well done to them and hope they move upwards and onwards to securing a Yarmouth place next April.

Appreciate that - should have said AGM not CM. I'm drafting something at the moment, although I don't feel we should necessarily be 'on a par' with the mens teams. I can let you have the proposal tomorrow.

Croydon A 23 - 4 Croydon Misscues.

Player of the Match was Cathy with a strong 2/3. The other frames were won by Lucy and myself.

Well done to Croydon A - the match was played in good spirit throughout.

Despite the one sided scoreline it was good to see so many frames run close and its certainly something we can continue to build on.

Our next match is at home against BPL Bumbles on 23 October.

This Sunday (4th December) sees the final matches of the 2016 Surrey Inter-League campaign and with Croydon B currently in 4th position and Croydon A in 5th, both teams have a realistic chance of auto qualification for the Nationals at Great Yarmouth next March / April.

Good luck to both teams. I'll try and pop down to Frames to cheer on the Bs.

Croydon 'B' were playing the current National Champions last night in the final match of the 2016 SCPA InterLeague campaign. At 9-9 going into the last set of 9 frames, the 'B's were holding their own up to that point and sort of in a way were sniffing out a surprise victory but Frames did turn it up a gear in that last set to roll out 17-10 winners but nevertheless I believe the B's have consolidated 4th spot and I hope the A's have consolidated 5th spot with there 16-11 win down at Aldershot

Final tables have now been furnished by the county and the B's did in fact finish in 4th spot with the A's in 6th and the Ladies (in their 1st inter-league season) finishing in 10th
