Goodfellas 7 The Folly 3

Not quite sure how we managed to lose this one so badly. I think we were a bit put off by the pace of play. We weren't expecting to have to play a shot every two minutes.

I could say all that crap about they were a great bunch of fellas, which they may be, but it was still f*****g tedious.

Really??? correct me if I am wrong but there were still other games being played when we finished ? which erm would mean that their games took just as long, would it not???

Our usual suspect of taking ages, Rob, actually finished quickly and the only game that took long was my frame ? I apologise if you were not happy on the time length, however, If you were not happy with it why didn?t you come up to me afterwards and say so instead of sitting behind your computer late at night and writing this post? Would have more respect for you that way !!!

And what has the length of game got to do with us being a great bunch of fellas? We had a joke with a few of your guys so please enlighten me???

As for the rest of your team including you Jerry ? good game lads, thank you, have a good rest of the season and see you back at your place soon!!!

Calm down sniper! I am not having a go at anyone in particular I was purely commenting that the pool was slow and the finish was late. Anyone who knows me will know I do not need to hide behind a computer if I want to voice an opinion, I have upset a few teams(mainly Chopper Squad) in my time.

I rate you boys as a team and if you remember you cost me ?50 last season when I backed you to beat the Cuemasters!

To be more precise game 8 was f*****g tedious, BOTH PLAYERS owe me forty minutes of my life back!

Good luck fellas, except Jeeves obviously, see you for the re-match.

Jerry, game 8 was a bit of a joke I agree with you, but I thought the rest of the frames were fairly average. The one where you fluked your penultamate ball and got position on the black wasn't that long?

Fluke??!!

Pond Q's 4 The Patriots 6 A fair result overall, but some of the games could and should have gone our way. You really can't afford to make mistakes in this division. You are punished every time. I'm confident that we will continue to improve. Funniest moment was when Macca warned Alex to keep the cheering to a minimum. It certainly had the desired effect . The noise levels were well within the bounds of decency . I really didn't believe that they could win quietly. There is a God after all !!:lol:

Oi CueBall whos side are you on -

I would never back us for money - you were brave - we should be called the unpredictables not the other team.

Yeah frame 8 was also me - im usually the quickest player but after my hour marathon with Paul Saxton the night before I thought I would carry it on - sorry!

Ill bring you a pillow when we play you at your place

Pat, nice to see you are all ready getting used to posting again in the lower divisions. Nothing like preparing yourselves. ;)

As for those 'mistakes' last night, weren't those against a 4 man Patriots team. How charitable of them to GIVE you two frames.

Yeah fluke? Unless you meant to get out of a snooker and pot the ball leaving yourself perfect on the black? All without even looking at it?

Fair play if you did, you are obviously a lot better than it was possible to tell from 2 frames last night.

From reading your first post Jerry, it comes across as a case of sour grapes. Thought we were the better team on the night and fully deserved the win. Be gracious in defeat matey - nobody likes a bad sportsman.

Some people dont need to line up every shot. What other shot could I possibly be playing at that pace? Admittedly to fall so well on the black was a bonus. I think the sour grapes are on your side if you are so ill prepared to give credit where its due.

I can always show you some of my Divisional Singles trophies if you dont believe me.

Rather than sour grapes I thought once we rescued it to 3-2 from 3-0 we had enough chances to get a better result.

Well at least we now have the optimism to go with the skill just a bad day at the office.....it should have been a lot closer I think 9-1 would have been fairer....:drunk:

Chances is what it is all about Jerry, some people take them and some people dont. You certainly took yours, and took 2 good wins. For me, you won a game that you were not expected to, and we probably had a win where we rode our luck.

But over 10 frames that will happen, and I think the score was fair. The biggest thing for me is I thought we could have had you 9-1, I dont think you could say the same.

I quite agree that you had the better of the match but at 4-3 we had our chances in the infamous game 8. At 4-4 you never know. Your lot played very well in patches and had we won it would have been harsh on you, but the opportunity was there for us to get a result we didnt necessarily deserve.

Not sure what you mean by I won a game I was not expected to? I was in front all the way in both games against two good players, but nevertheless players most would expect me to beat more often than not. I may have missed a couple against Jeeves but as we have been friends(and former team mates) for a long time I think we both missed a couple we would not have normally as there were some bragging rights at stake.

You are all very amusing! Maybe we should bring our computers to the match to get some banter going!

I will definitely try and fly back from Spain for this one.

Dont worry about the pillows we'll just surround the table with sofas. Horlicks on the house for everyone!

Oh no, the dreaded apostrophe is back. Thought we'd seen the last of that. Plurals don't have apostrophes, it's quite simple really.

I know that and you know that, Teach, but clearly some other people didn't concentrate during their English lessons. I should have clarified that I meant they don't have an apostrophe just for being a plural but may require one after the s in the case of the possessive form.
Hopefully, one day, 'ThePower' and others will finally take note.
It's bizarre that we're the only team who seem to repeatedly be given the rogue apostophe by others. You never see people posting about Bloodhound's, Hot Shot's or any other team names which are simply plurals.
:wrong:
