good looking draw,
bloodhounds have had a good season and will fancy therew chances against the unpredictables, could see this going all the way with unpredictables winning 11 8
the chickens will only have a chance against the pawleyne if they get all there big guns out,if not can see the pawleyne winning 11 6.
i take it the final will also be played at the farley:?:

Yeah; I doubt the nobodies like Kyle and Wayne who turn up every week would have much chance against The Pawleyne players . . .
The team that smashed the Lock Stock team 6-1 last round are more than capable of beating anyone, and that team are the team who turn up week in, week out.
As for the Bloodhounds V Unpredictables, I can see the underdogs coming good. Would be good to see two deserving teams in the final.

so the pawleyne and unpredictables dont deserve to get to the final,
ah donna,is that what you are trying to say.:(
whoever wins the semis deserves to be in the final(end of story)

Ah Chris ( :?: ), no that's not what I was trying to say. But good effort nonetheless.

Depends on whether the team in the Semis are there by merit. And because you put 'end of story' does that mean no-one is allowed to talk about it again?!

I think its best of 15 3x5 and the final is 21 4x5 play a play off if needed.

Both the Semi-Finals and Final will be played to the best of 21 frames . .

So is it 3x7 or 4x5 plus a play off?

Jesus best of 21 on 1 table. Why play both games at the same venue.

The KO Cup is sponsored and part of the sponsorship deal was that the business end of the competition is played at the Farley.

Well they should be different nights then. Having potentially 21 frame matches on one table is ridiculous.

The silly thing is that I don't think the format proposal was intended for the Semi's to be over 21 frames . . There was an error when it was posted on here in that the same amendment was written twice, once for 15 frames and once for 21 . . Dogger pointed this out and either it was meant to be 21 and I've forgotten or the wrong one was deleted prior to it's submission . .
When it was sponsored by Frames, didn't they only have one of the Semi's and the Final, with the other Semi being at Suzy's?
I imagine that the third table will be in operation tonight, alternating between the two matches . .

Back on topic... The Unpredictables and the Croutching Chickens both had easy wins... All done and dusted by 10 PM.

Crouching Chickens 8-1 Pawleyne Arms - not best of 21 frames.
Presume Danny, the semi's were only best of 15 last night?
Although, the other scoreline I heard was:
Unpredictables 11-2 Bloodhounds
Totally confused me.....:eek2:

Because there was some confusion between whether it was 21, or 15 (like the last million years) and in view of their being only 3 tables for 2 matches, each of the teams had a choice.
We chose best of 15, and the other match chose 21. The 21 match was played on 2 tables, the 15 on one. Both finished at the same time.
In relation to the match The Chickens played really well wespecially their so called lesser lights and deserved the comfortable win. No luck at all went our way, but I doubt it would have made the slightest difference if it did.

the pawleyne and chickens decided to play best of 15 on one table and we had the other 2 tables, well played to the bloodhounds last night, after the 1st five frames it was 3-2 we then steped up a few gears but the final scoreline is rather harsh as it could have been closer.good luck to the chickens in the final, should be a good game.:thumb:

I wasn't there Al but but it's nice to see common sense prevailing for once with regards to the match distance/table situation . . I still can't figure out where the 21 frames got proposed for the Semi's but I have a feeling it's my fault so apologies to all . . Maybe Halsey could make an amendment or worst case scenario, someone propose the amendment for the next AGM?

Danny boy, I can't make no amendments off my own back m8 as I would be hung out to dry at the next meeting. This was part of your original proposal last Feb and it will have to be proposed to be amended. You will note when the revised Playing Procedures & Rules for the Winter League are furbished this weekend that the quarter's & semi's for the League Cup remain at best of 15's and the final best of 21 as it as been for a number of years because there was nothing in Sean Kellys proposal at the AGM to alter the match frame distance.
