Ruskin House Club 4 v 6 Suzy's Floozies

Good match played in good spirit and an enjoyable evening. If we can continue to turn out a full side I think we can compete in this division. Looking forward to next week. :)

Yeah, was a good match. Some very nice clearances taken out by a few of your players.

Alhough apparently we should apologise; your other female player was heard saying how we put you all off by talking . . .

I mean, talking at a pool match? Downright rude of us! :elol:

Look forward to the away fixture. :)

I think people who talk at pool matches should be bound and gagged and thrown in the corner and have tomatoes thrown at them.:elol::elol:

As long as they're out of the tin . . .

That's about the only thing tomatoes are good for . . .

Crouching Chicken 5-5 Better Halfs

A fitting result for the two teams that will progress to Division Four at the end of the year . .

John Frith is a legend . . Not only has he turned up every week but is dishing for fun these days . .

I don't think any of the top 5 are out of it yet but I'll admit you are going to be very difficult to catch. We haven't done ourselves any favours by turning up short twice so far. Hopefully we shall remain injury free for the remainder of the season!

Tables pending 2 results is a follows:-

Pikeys 53
Better Halfs 47
DOG 42 (+ result)
Jolly Sailor 38 (+ result)
Floozies 38
Thicket Tavern 38
Royal Joakers 28 (+ result)
Ruskin House Club 27
Waddon B 20 (+ result)

Yes I'm bored.

He missed a week.

Granted, he was on holiday, but it's not the point.

5 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss from a team mainly consisting of 1st divsion players. Unconvinced Div 5 is done and dusted just yet....

Just to let you know the sailor won 10-0 so a good night for both teams in the pub.

You're absolutely right. There are some very good teams who actually WANT to win out there, so it's far from over. And with the format the way it is with every scoring points from frames won, it makes it all very, very open.

But for the record, CCHP never REQUESTED to be put in a lower division. We didn't care where we played as we weren't 'manufactured' to try and win what we could - we simply wanted to put a team in to have a laugh and keep playing on a Tues under no pressure of wanting to do well.

After all, that's what the Rack Pack are all about in the Summer - we wouldn't wanna tred on any toes . . . ;)

I'd say 5 players from 5 different winter sides IS more than a tad 'manufactured'....

As a 'deemed' new team you automatically go into the lower divsions so what has 'for the record' got to do with it? We may look dumb but we know how the system works and as an ex-committee member surely you do know that one....

'Very good' teams in Div 5 who 'actually WANT to win'? Really? My god that must be scarey? Wow weeeee, thank you lord WE are so lucky that WE got shuffled up to divsion 4. Teams up there just LOVE to get rolled over....

Says the person who sends motivational team e-mails whilst still in Division Four . .

"We're class" :snigger:

"Let's show them what we're all about" :snigger:

Bless . .

We may be made up of several winter sides but that's irrelevant as we hardly put a team together to conquer Division Five . . We could have got a couple of Eden players in and still done that!

The fact remains that I guess this is what happens when you get bored of winning at the top level :bored:

So how exactly do you think a 'New Team' gets together then?! If it were 5 members of the same Winter League team, then it's not all that new, is it . . . :eek2:

And seeing as Mr Halsey told us we would go into the highest slot available, we could have been in Division 1..

'Come on guys, lets rip them up' isn't a team speech we have. In fact, we don't have team e-mails, team talks before a game or any pressure on us. We have people from 5 different Winter teams playing for us and only one player cares about the result. The rest of us turn up because we're having a laugh (at Grants expense usually) and knocking a few balls about. We've lost a game and drawn a game now - so what?! If we don't win the league, then who cares?!!!

But hey, you SHOULD be proud of 'tearing up' Division 4 in the Summer League with pretty much the same team you have in Division 1 in the winter. Well done.

You introduced the word 'manufactured' into the conversation, and I just picked up on it. Sorry if its hit a nerve.

Emails...

I could dig out a couple of pearlers from you Danny when you played for the Eden.

Paul Macquire & Tony Nuttman would surely like to see a few of them. :winking:

Yes Mr Power, you're right. Yes it has.

All my life i've dreamt of winning a Division 5 title and you've simply foiled my cunning plan of forming the 'Team of Dreams' to dominate the division. I even had to pay off Mark Halsey for him to put us there.

Please, don't tell anyone what i've done. Let me live my dream.
