Crouching Chicken Bunch of Pikeys 6 - 1 Farley Shite Potatoes......Men against boys; well apart from frame 3. Easy win for the pikeys, a few chances came our way and we didnt take them. Well played to the CCBP - all the best for future rounds

Farley Small Potatoes 4 - 6 The Propellor

Really pleased with the Spuds performance last night, the guys played well and against all predictions of the Spuds only getting 1 frame we managed to bring it to 4-4 (after Cliff potted the black a tad too early!!)

Well played to all and good luck to the Prop for the next round.

Crouching Chicken 6-1 Farley Big Potatoes

A surprisingly confident performance from the Division 5 side last night . . Donna and the legend that is Frithy stood out with some decent showings . .

Jamie hit the nail on the head in that there were chances that just weren't taken but all in all it was a good giggle with yet again GRANT WESTBROOK fishing up at #1 . . Kipper . .

With Wayne to return and our squad all chipping in I reckon we have a good chance to feature at the end . . Just a case of getting to the best of 15's stage . .

Which only highlights the travesty of James not being able to play his Singles match because he was too young . . It's no surprise why he's the first young player to show any promise since Kyle . .

I don't think he shouldnt be allowed to play just because of his age the question is why would any one stop an up and coming youngster as good as he is??????? Surely allowing him to play is good for the game as he is the next generation and any pub who disallows him to play will just hinder his never ending talent RIDICULOUS Some people are just jealous it is outrageous

With young James I think we need to put things into perspective. He is a very good young player, who appears to have a level head on his shoulders given his age. Now he is playing in the league his game will improve, and I believe he is in the correct team to develop his potential and no doubt he will become a very good player.

Its my personal opinion he doesn't need to be told how great he is, and that he has never ending talent, because to be honest that is not the case. He is just starting out and I am sure he has identified loads of areas he can improve on.

There have been many players that that believe their own hype or accolades that are thrust upon them, and stop putting in the effort. They either become lairy little sods who you dislike immensely, or never reach their potential. James is coming along very nicely, but he is still very young.

I agree that he should have been allowed to play in the singles, but he'll have plenty of opportunities in the future.

James Charlwood is certainly one for the future. We've had the likes of Danny and then Kyle come through in the last 10 years but there has not been a real quantity of younger players going on to bigger and better things...

At the Farley we have few youngsters who will no doubt work their way through the ranks. Farron is definately going to be one of them & has bundles of potential, then there is The Wonderkid, Barry, who seems to just get better each week. I hear the Dukes via the Farley's united scouting and poaching policy have a 16 year old on their books who from what I have all ready seen could turn out to be a bit special....

James is indeed a good player. Remember when I first met him I was working in T.Heath rileys and he wasnt playing for any team at the time. Def improved since then. Would like to think our sessions which we used to have regulary has somehow helped :) The main thing he needs to control is his temper when he loses. I know all young players are like that, I'm still like that now :P but if he could learn to take a beating and keep his head high then it'll only help his focus when playing which in my opinoin is the cause of, if not all mistakes good players make.

The advantage that James has is that not only has he got some seriously good support from his parents, is as hungry to play as I've ever seen (other than Saxton) but is still a foetus at the tender age of 12 . .

The boy plays confidentally with side and knows what he's doing with it and that's more than I can say for 90% of the league's players at present . . The last player to come through the Paul Macquire Academy was Kyle and I'm sure he'll agree that James is as good as he was back then . . I myself wasn't anywhere near as good at 12 as James is (cue the comments that I never was good  )

Macca has a funny knack for producing good young players and I think he's hit the jackpot this time round . .

The sad thing is that The Power mentioned both myself and Kyle . . I am 27 this year and Kyle is closing in on 20 . . That shows just how long it's been since someone has come through and how little junior pool is happening in the area :(

I suppose myself and Barry are good but i was just pointing out James' age as GOLDEN says its been years since they developed so a player like james doesnt come along toooooo often and therefore i was pointing out which everyone already knows he is the next generation need more players like him not many div 1 players can say they have won 4 out of 6 in their league matches hmm
