Strictly speaking postponements aren't allowed (lol) but as long as it's played within the next couple of weeks I'd imagine it'll be ok . .

Really? Oh well I agreed to postpone one of our players matches because her opponent is on holiday. Should she have claimed it? ;)

Please try to remember that it is a summer league. Players are highly likely to go on holiday from time to time. A sporting attitude should be adopted at all times !!

I thought the singles were best of 3?? If so, how come Danny and Andrews score was 5-2! Or am I being stupid

no it's a new format this year, you keep playing frames until one player goes 3 frames ahead... a good idead really as it cuts down the odd fluke to win a match a bit like a tennis set but you have to win by 3 frames instead of 2 points

From the last page of the singles schedules...
Under no circumstances can any fixture be subject to postponement.
Please quote the match number when telephoning through your Winning Players
(if an opponent fails to arrive and play in a match then a ?Walk-Over Win?
must be claimed)
(*Edited to text because the screenshot from the pdf screwed the thread widths up!)
whoops! :juggle:

We played Snooker instead of Pool . . Andrew wanted to make a match of it so we played 9's as 3's is ridiculous even with Snooker . .
Extending the match distance happens quite a bit between Division One players, especially with those matches between players who know each other quite well . .
. . I've played both Sean Kelly and Kyle Pickett in the Singles KO over 19 frames recently and I vaguely remember Rod Altes playing John Hoy over 25's in past years!

It always says that . . . it also says on the league forms not to enter the singles/doubles knockouts if you are going to be on holiday for longer than a 2 week period during the course of the season. I guess you can read into both those statements what you will.

Pawleyne lot safely through:
Sarah Goddard
Dave Clements
Shaggy
Myself
Scouser (Scouser beat Graham Thompson.... Great scalp)
Mickey and Darren rearranging thier games.
Jim was unable to make his match, so he's out.
(I think he secretly wanted to go in the plate)
So early favourite for the plate is Graf followed closely by Graham and Jim Mc.

Offer him dates that suit you, and if he is not compatible then claim it.
The games in the Summer should be played if possible.

If Jim never played in this 1st round then he will not be eligible for the Plate along with anyone else that never actually played.

I've had a re-think and because there is nothing in the rules that states excemptions from the plate comps then I will allow those players to participate but the same rules will apply for any walkover wins and for those that are being fined for this 1st round be advised that is you don't show again in the plate without notification then you will be fined again. I will be raising the issue regarding Plate eligibility at the Winter League AGM in September

I've text him but have no reply, and haven't got his number. When do the results have to be in by?

We were due to play our postponed match on the 16th, but due to unforeseen circumstances we can't now, so Luke is having the walkover win as it was my fault in the first place for missing the original date.

Scottish Hustler; you're not feeling bad due to taking the win; it's just the unfamiliar feeling of you going past the first round in a pool comp.
Don't panic. It'll be gone by the next round and I doubt you'll get that feeling ever again.
:)

He won't be in the draw for the 3rd round. Not unless his opponent can't make it and he claims another one.
