The double is on for the Ego's and tonight's match between these two is going to be sick. Great game to watch for the neutral. I'll go for an 8-6 win to the Eagles.
As for my mighty Eden tonight, on paper we'll start the slight underdogs. Its a huge game for us, but we have been in fantastic form these past few months and we have every chance of nicking it.

I look forward to watching both games as fortunately, we shall be bashing up the Floozies simultaneously. Having watched the Eagles performance last week,I think that they have the momentum to carry them through in what will be a very close game. It's sad that this isn't the final but the Propeller beat the Hot Shots in the group game and that is what dictates the semi-final line-up. If the Propeller perform to their normal standard, they will blow the Eden away.It only seems like yesterday that we pulverised the luvvies 5-2 in the initial group ! Since then they have done a pretty good impression of Lazarus to bounce back ! It should remind us all that there is a God and,if you make enough noise He will hear you and help you !! Should the match be decided on a Noiseometer, then the Eden would win. Unfortunately for them,it's not,so they will get stuffed !!

I never gamble where young children are involved !! It could put them under too much pressure and might well infringe their human rights !! I could never condone such a thing for purely personal monetary gain ,no matter how great the need !! :bite:

I don't know what it is Pat but I get the impression that you're not fond of our Eden friends :?:
Sorry if I have misinterpreted anything . .

I'll have a go at predictions...
Prop 8 - 6 Eden
Eden have had some good results lately and have shown they are capable of beating anyone on their day, but I think over distance and providing Prop have a full turn out, they will come out on top.
Eagles 7 - 8 Hot shots
This will go right to the wire. Hot shots will want to get their own back on the egos after their league triumph last week. However the egos will see the league and cup double in their sights and will be well up for it. This is definately not a match to miss. My thoughts are the victors of this will win the final.

The Eagles are missing Andy Esgrove tonight that is like the hotshots not having Sean or Rod so that is a bit of a blow, however our most important game was last week, to win the 1st division this is just a bonus,we want to win tonight but won't be devastated if we don't, so good luck to the Hotshots hope it's a good game.

How very sad that the Eden dream is over for yet another season !! It shows what will happen when you try to punch above your weight ! I thought that it was very quiet over on their table, but I didn't realise that they were getting their arses kicked quite so badly. I feel sure that they will feel much more at home in the 4th division in the summer league. I do hope that their confidence will be restored by performing at a level which is much more in keeping with their ability !! Obviously I concentrated on the other match which should have been the final !! It was a very even game which swung backwards and forwards. It looked like a play-off was going to be necessary and that is what happened !! Good Luck to the Hot Shots and the Propeller in the final.

I guess you are permitted to dream when you continue to win nothing of any consequence. The Eden stopped dreaming 10 years ago. :winner: x 2.
Last night witnessed two sides not seperated by ability but at the end seperated by missed chances. For the Prop, Adam Hewson and Mark Miller were massive. Miller potted 7 balls off the chandeliers not once getting perfect position on a ball. For the Eden, Steve Field and Rab Harkness produced the only moments of quality. Fieldsy clearance against Wayne in the opening set was magical.
The match came down in my view to three frames, Nick Pool (1st set), Paul Adams (1st set), and Wayne Pope (2nd set) to grind out three wins that was to make the difference on the final scoreboard. We lost 8-4 but at that point could have been 7-5 up.
At 7-2 up the Prop then missed 6 blacks for the match to allow us some hope. Our team performance was not at its best and the Prop also played below par, but they made it to 8 first and thats all that matters. Well done.
Regardless of last night, I'm proud of my team this season. If you go back to December and what were low points in a defeat to Goodfella's in the Knockout Cup, and sitting third to bottom in the league, as a team we have worked wonders to finish top 6 and to make a League Cup Semi-Final.
Of course, I'd have been made up to lead the team out next week in the final but its not to be. We'll take a few weeks off now, and come back for some summer Div 4 pool and as a result get a taste again of winning nothing of any consequence.

Well done to the Hot Shots last night for winning the League Cup . . We threw away a host of chances against the only team you can't do that against and got punished accordingly . .
. . if Nigel Clarke gets hold of some chalk it's a formality over 21 frames.

Yep I concur young Golden... We had plenty of chances to wn frames and didn't its that simple.
Good luck to the H'Shots and for that matter the Prop in the final.
On an individual note I am just glad this season has come to an end!

Kelly fish and Hughie were very good last night and in hindsight I should have picked one of them for the play off, might not have made any difference but if I got it wrong I appologize to Sean,Hughie and shaggy. Good luck to both the Prop and the Hot shots in the final

Oh, and I forgot to mention in my end of season blur, the season included the defeat of the current National Champions and of course it would wrong if I didn't mention the two victories over the newly crowned League Champions.
And just for Berty and his all ready forgotten colleagues. We finished above the Coney. :one:

Well done the prop last night - took the chances & were easy winners really as we gave them too many chances & did not perform at all (sure you are glad to hear that Pat)
But on another night the result would have been so different & i guess it was not to be
good luck in the final
a little break now until the summer - Eden trophy hunting will once again begin :one:

I'll let you have the last word Matthew. :bored:
Although, I am guessing we have not heard the last of your tearless farewell to Croydon Pool and as a result we await with baited breath the painful threads of the Coney re-forming. And countless posts in response of 'I told you so'.

yawn yawn yawn... Give it a rest will ya. You know that the name of The Coney may continue but you know full well that most of us will not be playing. I'm sure you would actually prefer to see us stay and give you moments of delight on here, but sadly that will not happen.

Good, and thanks for another confusing post by an ex-coney player. The name may continue but the personnel may not.
Mmmm, log on to www.coneyconfused.com
Anyway, the coney debate has long passed it's sell-by-date....
