Tonight sees arguably the biggest game of the season. Forget division 1, 2 and 3. Division 4 is where it?s happening tonight and those lucky enough to find themselves with a space in either of the two standing capacity only venues are in for a treat.

The Goodfellas are out for points this evening. One point behind their rivals the Elmer Cuemasters they know how important a result for them tonight will be. They were seen crying however when they read their fixture of this evening, the ?Elmer Lodgers?. However they eventually picked themselves up off the floor when they reread the fixture a couple of times and realized it was the Lodgers they were playing and not the Cuemasters. That?s right, the Goodfellas are playing the only other team in the league to carry the Elmer shield and it promises to be a thriller. The Lodgers having won five out of their last six games are up for the challenge, if it were not enough that they were playing one of the best teams in the division, the Lodgers have the added incentive of helping their big brothers out in the final struggle for points as the season draws to a close. The Elmer Cuemasters are taking nothing for granted as they take on The Better Halfs. ?We can?t afford to get complacent this close to the end of the season? said Ted Freeman, the Elmer coach and secretary in their special team conference call of Tuesday morning.

Now the league cup is behind us we can focus one hundred percent on the remaining two games as the struggle for end of season points draws to a close. This is what the league exists for. The atmosphere, the tension, the autographs, the photographs. Yes the last two games of the season promise to be enthralling. So whether you are playing or watching sit back and relish the fact that you?re part of history in the making. But be sure to remember the details, you will no doubt be recounting the story of the end of season tussle for generations to come.

I think Big Jake has taken over the mantle as the new Berty when it comes to predictions . Some truly stirring write up's, has the hairs standing up on the back of the neck....

Just to add some spice to the Div 4 run-in. Both the Elmer and Goodfella's are playing well below the standard they should and no doubt will be hot favourites to do the same damage in Div 3 next season. Whilst its all good banter between the two sides, you can sense the rivalry will just grow between these two in the years to come. Easier match tonight for the Elmer, but it will go down to the last match of the season. Elmer's to lose you have to think.

Big Jake could have made an Arsenal 0-0 draw under George Graham sound like a 5-4 goalfest.

He certainly wouldn't have to exaggerate about last night's Arsenal performance. We were awesome !! I was down at Suzy's yesterday evening. The only damper was the infantile regular cheers from the Eden girls choir as they crawled over the winning line. Their total disregard for the other three quarter-finals was embarrassing. Unfortunately it is totally in character so nobody was too surprised !!

a single game you mean? they have won 21 frames.

Bit late for poor old Arsenal though Patrick a bit like your pool team mate - never really winning when it matters only when all is over & they can pretend they are truly great

And as for us falling over the line - you are totally right 8-4 was close fella - how did you get on in the comp, knocked out long ago i remember & as for making a bit of noise - That is what you are meant ot do when you win, but i guess being used to the Highbury Libary for so long you have forgotten that :chicken:

Thanks for popping down last night good to hear from you on the night rather than as usual behind your PC - Good luck mate in whatever you are trying to acheive - Because greatness it will never be :blah::blah:

David, you talk about the Highbury library. Might I suggest a few library visits for your goodself might well improve your spelling !! I honestly cannot bring myself to offer your makeshift team any congratulations. Stealing players from another team is underhand and beneath contempt !! :wrong:

Same old rubbish eh Pat, but i couldn't agree more how are the POND POTTERS - Any of them play/played for you guys :omfg:

And if by stealing you mean Barry & Rab from the Dukes - They asked to join & we said yes - If that is stealing then every team in the league is guilty - I expect nothing less from you these days, obviously nothing better to do than attempt to have a pop - As said good luck with everything including promotion then probably relegation :haha:

The difference between our new recruits is that we allowed their previous team to fold before we approached them. Behind the bike sheds at the Farley is not quite the same !! Why did the League Secretary have to get involved in your team's shady dealings ! The Eden should have been booted out of the league there and then, and given us all some peace !! :nerner:

:blah:
Whatever - look forward to hearing all about it face to face rather than constant sniping from behind a keyboard

And Pat i always thought we got on reasonably well - must have been wrong or is it face to face 1 thing & then........

See you soon David ! No doubt I'll be in Suzy's for the semi-final ! It is our home venue ,so I spend as much time as I can there !! I'm sure that you and your team try to do the same at the Farley !! :juggle:
