Out of interest, we normally practise on a Saturday. Is it still OK for us to come down, or will all the tables be taken?

Harry, Last week with th 26 runners, there were at least 2 tables free all day.

Even if D2 got say 40 runners, it will be down to the last 16 within a couple of hours, so tables should become available at 2.30 ish!

Good point H. We'll have to go down after half 2 or so.

Normally there wouldn't be any 1st division players allowed on the tables at Rileys this Saturday. But as you will shortly be relegated Harry, an exception can be made in your case !!

Quality day today. even tho i got battered 5-0 first round, had a great time.
Well done Paul, you ran it well.
had 32 starters i think, and it still took 6/7 hours (thanks to a couple of games...). i just wonder how smoothly it would have gone if 60 people had turned up? if it's going to be a permanant fixture in the future and gets a bigger turn out, it might have to be run over 2 days.

Thats 58 players from two divisions
thats still not a good turn out
playing it over two days would be to much travelling for those who dont drive and u would get less numbers

It was a good turn out, Just a shame I had to leave early for work. Fancied my chances in that..:(

i agree chaos, but im just saying, after this saturday, 32 person comp taking 7 hours, it would be impossible if 90 people turned up.

I wouldn't have thought so . . From what I gather there were loads of tables not being played on whilst waiting for other matches which would have been used to cater for other matches . .

That said, the Croydon Open had 64 runners, started at Midday and ended about 2am

Croydon Open was a strange one. By 8pm everyone left in it was in the money so we confidently upped the match distance for the later stages. Result - it finished at 2am!

I think people are prepared to stay that late if there is a few hundred quid on it. For a trophy and a title only? Maybe it's a bit of an ask?
