4-3 to The Coney v the Unpredictables tonight. Pretty even but strong performances from Rob, Matt, Rhys and Donna made the difference.

Berty was the happiest man of the night after Grimsby made it to Wembley for the St Johnstone's paint cup final!

Mighty Eden 4 - 3 Hot Shots

We were 4-1 up and should have been 5 really. Does that make us the best team in the UK now??

After going 1 - 0 down the next 4 games all saw chances for the UK's number 1 pub team, only for the Eden players to take out 4 superb clearances to leave the Hot Shots very quiet in the corner of the Farley.

The only way is up.....for the Eden anyway

Well done the Eden. Not there last night but I heard it was a dogged, and composed performance against the National Champions....

To take the National Champions scalps has to said is special... :band:

great result for the eden boys last night, they always raise there game against the big guns also seems the hotshots are still suffering from a hangover after their great win in yarmouth, make that 3 defeats on the spin now. hard to not see the eagles winning the title now after last nights scores. with the sas as good as down and the bloodhounds looking unlikely to stay up division one is looking a bit predictable even at this stage.

:dance:As always we do play better against the top sides - always have done

A match littered with mistakes early form the Hot Shots, who had massive chances in all of the opening 4 frames yet found themselves 3-1 down & the Eden really turned up the volume (If you can believe that:lol:)

But we took out really good finishes in all of those frames so it was not lucky we were on the hill

Then enter Barry who takes out another nice finish to clinch the match

The last 2 frames we had sewn up & threw away with both guys having ball in hand & 2 shots - So i guess the score was about right & yes we made sure chaps

No game next week as the Eden team venture to Cheltenham to try & nick some dough from the bookies - Thanks to Tony Nuttman & his Ego's for re-arranging the match - Cheers chaps

It seems paying that Nigel Clarke lookalike to play last night was money well spent then chaps.

We had a Berty lookalike playing for us last night, he was also a Grimsby fan but only half the size.

So come on people, there is too much sitting on the fence by the Ego's who sign onto the site everyday. They have played down easily the best week of their season so far by giving it the silent treatment. Eden beating the Hot Pants last night was big for the Eagles and the title battle swung massvely in their favour. So what do the Ego's think????????????? Too much quietness from them...

That good win over the Prop for the Eagles last night effectively said good night to the Prop's outside titles hopes. With the defending champions Hot Shots looisng and 9 weeks to go, the Div 1 title is surely going to the Eagles. It is most definately in their own hands to lose?

Down at the bottom of Div 1.

One team will thank the Drillers for pulling out of the league and its been a two horse race for somewhile. But 5 points seperates the Hounds and Unpreds. The gap grows slimmer by the week.

SAS are gone. The vast majority read the SAS their 'last rights' before a pool ball was even struck in Div 1 this season. So no need to reincarnate them now. They are effectively relegated.

The only other question that needs an answer is.....

Can the Bloodhounds stay up? Will the Unpreds go down? Are the Rack Pack safe?

Eden and Coney still need a few more points but its hard to see the chasing pack dragging either of these sides back into the relegation scrap. Eden / Coney battle to finish above each other will be enough to keep both these sides going for it until week 22.

So is it Bloodhounds down? At who's expense is my answer. Surely that can only be Unpredictables or the Rack Pack? Firstly, I cannot believe the Unpreds can consistently underperform each season. Where is the next win coming from for the Unpreds as there is no consistentcy coming from them other than 4-3 defeats. One thing I noticed is this, the Hounds WANTED to win the other week against the Eden. That is the bigger thing, and the Hounds know now Div 1 is tough and maybe its taken them 11 games to settle down. They seem more hungry than the Unpreds but its all about results now and the Hounds have to produce those results or they know its all over. As for the Unpreds, I fear for them. Results are needed. They look very good on paper (Bishop, Knock, Fran, Poynter) but where has the passion gone? They have struggled, and underperformed (like the Eden) for the past 3 seasons and last seasons scare is again really imminent. They dug deep last season and need to do it again.

Rack Pack easily sealed their best result of the season on Tuesday, and there is daylight between them and the Hounds but they remain on the brink and are still in the danger zone for now. But the difference is they are capable of producing a result when they need it.

The Unpreds in my view - will face the drop.....:O:

Probably because we spent a lot of time talking ourselves up last season when we were several points clear and ended up getting our pants pulled down . .

There was always a chance that the Hot Shots would have a difficult period after their Yarmouth exploits as I'm sure it's hard to get motivated for local league pool after becoming National Champions . . Think of it as Man United winning the Champions League and then having to come back to play away against Derby and Middlesborough . . I doubt it wouldn't have the same appeal . .

The Eagles have a lot of respect for what the Hot Shots did recently and if anything it's given us more desire to win the league this season but we know what happened last time and won't be taking anything for granted.

A big indication in the title race will be when the Hot Shots play host to The Propeller . .

The bottom line is that even if the Hot Shots lost every remaining game, they're still going to be National Champions and that speaks volumes . .

The Egos have gone for a more cliche bsed campaign this year, replacing 'where are gonna dish you dinner up, your all muppets', to a more 'one game at a time' methodology.

If we are 11 points clear with a couple of games to go then we can have a chuckle, until then its building block mentality. From little acorns etc etc.

Enjoyed the game as always on Tuesday we always have a good night with a top bunch fo fellas. I think the unpredictables in the last 3 seasons (scrap the excuses) have massively underachieved. They should not be pulled in to a relegation scrap but are in it every year at the moment.

Graf
Danny Brown
Luke Turnbull
Poynter
Tertullen (wrong spell)
Knocky

with MOD being the only weaker link (sorry) there is no way this team should go down and usually they field a strong sidein the last few weeks which usually sees them through. They should not rely on this however as it may catch them out as they have no easy matches and div one is all about confidence.

The scrap between the bloodhounds and the Rack Pack is an interesting one. Last years newbies vs this years newbies. The Bloodhounds when we played them were ruthless. We won 5-2 but they caught us on our best night of the season to date and I genuinely thought at the time they would stay up. The Rack Pack on the flip side have lost key player/s and it seems to have effected their confidence. When we played them and they beat us in the first fixture of last team it was the best performance of any side vs us in the first half of the season. This season they still have great craic together but I think they have lost their edge a little. On reflection the Bloodhounds only enemy will be themselves as i believe they have the quality and balls to stay up with my only concern being them giving other teams too much respect. The Rack Pack will need to build on this weeks momentum otherwise at present my gut feeling is they will go down before the hounds!!

as for the other teams Eden was a very impressive result this week make no bones about it and seem to be able to deliver on the big nights which with one or two exceptions has been the coneys downfall over the years. We tend to beat all the teams around us but struggle aginst the big boys. we have 3 more chances this season to prove that theory wrong and of course the additional niggle match vs the Eden which I am gutted to be missing through being in Milan.

Coney have had a rennaisance since Donna has joined which has taken the pressure off of getting players and injected a bit of enthusiasm for us to complete the season. Cheers Haddock!

Other than that Eagles for the title although only just after we pull your pants down!

Bloodhounds have been good value I think in thier first year, unfortunately I think the table as it is now is the way it will finish with regards to the relegation spots.
Dare I say.... The Unpredictables are far too good to go down, and yes, with the potential line up they could field, have underachieved.
The Cuemasters could also be doing better in my opinion. They were terrific against us, but haven't fielded a full side since I don't think! (Forgive me if I'm wrong)

As for us, Tuesday obviousley worked massively in our favour, but I'm not a fan of counting unhatched chickens, and there's still a long way to go, 81 points worth still to play for.

absolutely no way will the unpredictables go down not even worth talk time on here only way it will happen is if they start turning up short and pay the price like we did a few seasons ago, and yes your right shaun we have been short most of the season hence our 3rd place in the worst player turnout league which was recently highlighted. i think there is now every chance we may reform with the elmer boys as the one team next winter, also the table has been dissapointing down the langley which helps no one.
