danny Kellier has beaten me with a notified win. I'm on holiday next week and Danny is unable to make the journey another day. I was looking forward to a good game but rules are rules I guess. Good luck to danny for the next round. :trophyone:

Just want to add to this situation Ben has a holiday booked so we had a pee arrangement that Ben wud come down my place tomorrow and we wud play the match which I was happy to do not a problem now that was all done n dusted now pat Flynn was the only person that new this as I told pat yesterday coz wen he was leaving he said see you Monday at frames I replied u won't mate coz I am playing my game Thursday as Ben is going on holiday why then has pat gone to Mark and told him this I will never no??? Mark then has said under no circumstances will the game be played Thursday at the windmill it will be Monday at frames now Ben obviously mot able to make that! Or the other option was me to travel to frames when Ben comes bk why Shud I have to do that it's miles from me and it's on another day. I don't have days where I can just run up to frames. I think this is unfair on Ben a bit the game Shud go ahead tomorrow as planned. So I be a big man about this n say on here Ben come to my pub tomorrow play the game has planned and if u win I give u the walk over mate.

Kellogg's am in shock !! Now I hope mark Hester doesn't read this lol ..
On a serious note because frames sponsor the singles it can only be played from that venue ... But top draw Kellogg's to offer Ben that just shows u are a ex Peckham sportsman :handshake:

Lets leave it mate. It's a nice gesture and shows great sportsmanship but I dont wanna bring the game into disrepute just coz i'm on holiday. Would be good if the league could be a bit more flexible on the subject but it wont do either of us anygood if we used this loophole to make the fixture possible.
Again; thanks for offer but i'm planning on being in croydon for a little while yet so i'll win it on another occasion. Good luck in the semis :thumb:

Dan,I am very sorry that your singles match has reached this impasse, mainly due to my intervention. I had previously asked Mark Halsey why the quarter-finals had to be played at Frames as the competition sponsor was the Farley. I was told that the reason was that there were four quarter-finals and the Farley could only accommodate three games. When you told me of your intention to play your game on an earlier date,I thought that this would solve the numerical problem at the Farley. I e-mailed Mark to try to have the venue changed for the three remaining matches. He rang me back to affirm the fact that the venue could not be changed under any circumstances. With this in mind, I can only assume that the result of your match would have been voided when notified because it would have been played at an "ineligible" venue. Would it not be possible for you and Ben to play your match at the Farley before the semi-final ? The most important fact in this unfortunate episode is that the match needs to be played wherever and whenever it can be !! Surely an exception can be made in these unique circumstances. We must always be aware that this is, after all, the SPORTING Summer League. I'm sure that Tony at Frames would be sympathetic to this suggestion. It is definitely worth exploring the viability. Good Luck mate.

To be honest mate not only is the league very strict with it's rules (which i support), there is also the added factor of the sponsorship which makes it more than an CroydonPool matter/decision. Might be good to perhaps find a way of making the rules themselves more flexible for the future but as for this matter in hand I think its a full gone conclusion that it will not happen as I am on holiday next week and Danny is unable to get to frames on another occasion.

Ben,what I'm suggesting is that you and Dan should be allowed to play your match on 24th September at the Farley immediately before the semi-final. It's no big deal ! The decision on how the matches were to be allocated was made by OUR committee, NOT the sponsors. Frames and the Farley were quite happy to allow any flexibility that might be required in the future. One match isn't going to make much difference to our future relationship with any potential donors. Please let common sense prevail !!

When we played our match against you Tuesday you spoke about how drainied the better half boys was you have to remember pat it's a quarter final and my slf or Ben cud put all into that 1 match to try and win it sum times takes it out if u wen u put all into a game then to come on and player a even bigger moutain n play a semi? That's really not a option for me as I said I was happy to play what we agreed but that can't happen now..... Ben has closed the case now and i am sure he will be bk nxt year and give it ago again case is closed on this now for me I have had multiple chats with Ben over the fore seen circumstances and we have put the case to bed. :handshake:

Danny I think somehow your missing the point !!! It cannot be played at your home venue as the pub u play from doesn't sponsor the singles ko ... But the Farley does, and am sure if ben was to come off his much need break from pool that u could arrange to play this at the Farley which isn't that far to travel un like frames !!!
Pat I think since mr Saxton step down from the committee u should put yourself forward .... You'd have my vote !! The league needs a common sense voice

To be Frank with u I ain't intrested in sponsors wot I said is I can not commit to other nights pal as I play in other leagues and have a fam tell u wot tho as this is such a big issue to every 1 I wil play the match in the Farley so bored of this league n peoples voices had all this with the doubles (which back fired went on the site next day to a boom) it's kool tho lets get this done ain't planning to stay in this league for much longer.

Kellogg's am not having a pop !!! Just stating what would be said .... I think you've got a right to claim the match as ben is away !! All that was said is in sportsmanship would u be willing to play at the Farley when Ben comes off his long over due break from pool !!
I think your find kermy used the word boom I'd just add to it and say stick lol
I in the past have been let down by bad sportsmanship and unable to make certain games!!! Only for players not willing to re arrange but hat of to you you showed willingness unlike others
Good luck for the remainder ,

I have had a text from Ben about this thread so I thought I'd have a look at what was going on. Just for the record Ben has asked as to whether this match could be played before the semi's at the Thomas Farley to which I have agreed that this would be acceptable subject to Danny's agreement.

Danny isn't prepared to play this so close to the semi and my girlfriend isn't prepared to shorten the holiday and get earlier flights back so we've come to a dead end. Another year :trophyone:

It is the opponents discretion if any fixture is not to be played on any other night other than the designated match night so all thats left to say is enjoy your holiday.

Having been cast as the original pantomime villian in this unfortunate episode, I am very happy and relieved that a compromise has been agreed that appears to suit all parties. Congratulations to everybody who has been involved ! The game of pool is the winner ! :handshake:
