Just to double check the new format...

Write the first set of 5 down sign, play games.

Then write the second set of 5, play games.

Then at the end of that do we write out 11th player down? Or do we do this as part of the second set?

Just so I'm clear!

I'm pretty sure you play the 2nd set & decide.

It would be ridiculous to pick when potentially 1/2 the team hasn't played yet. That said we're playing a playoff at the end of matches even when there's a clear winner so I wouldn't rely too much on logic...

Dogger , you play two sets of five as you say,
And then play the 11th frame.
putting the player down as your match choice this player may have played two frames already, but for the 11th frame that dosen't matter,
And the 11th players from each side may have already played each other and for the 11th frame this also does not matter.
You can also play a player in the 11th frame who has not played in the first two sets of five if he/she is team registered.
You play all 11 FRAMES even if you have you a winning score line before the 11th frame... HOPE THAT HELPS..

Cheers Steve, yup all makes sense & helps.

The main thing was when you write the 11th player down... after all ten frames have been played, or when you write the second set.

must say i'm not a fan of that as with the best of 10 a win his harder and cuts out the element of luck!

I'm always a fan for more pool...

Reigate&Redhill League play 3x5 every week, and that is very doable.

I understand it's too big a step too soon to go from 10 to 15, but slowly slowly catchy monkey.

The recent Quarter Finals & League Cup Semis (All best of 15) prove we can manage it. So long term, I hope that's the route the league goes in.

You would need an earlier start time of 8pm of course, but that bridge to be crossed should we ever come to it.

dogger, play the first two sets and find out who's in form then make a choice..

Sean, as the league has taken on 11 frames this summer i think it will help make the step to a 15 frame format,

playing on the clock has speeded up the match finish times, and shows it is possible to do,

I think 15 frames would make Tuesdays a great match night for all.

More pool is better....we all:lovedup: it

Lets make it happen.....:clapping:

The better the players the faster the games, but I don't think 15 works for the lower divisions, where individual games taking up to half an hour are not uncommon, even with players taking their shots within a minute. I've been involved in games in the 10 game format that have gone on until midnight, and a 15 minutes earlier start is not going to help this.

If such a rule is to be introduced, there should also be an accompanying rule concerning any games that have not started before 11 p.m. being decided by a coin toss, if either team wishes to call it a night and to go home.

jacko I think we could pilot it in div 1 & 2 as most of the teams have played in both and the standard is there..

lets make it happen...

Games are probably quicker in division 5 than division 1 since even a dog can work out the potting angle on a 6x3 ft table. 15 frames is the way forward.

play a lot of your pool in div.5 do you then chuckie.I must say i dont remember playing on many small tables over the last 34 years of playing in the croyden league in all five div.s
you cant have played in the Maple tree before as there tables a 6x3.and has been for a long time. and it's better than some table's
i've played on.:?:

A dog could almost certainly calculate the potting angle on a 12x6 foot Snooker table, let alone a small UK Pool one (whatever the average dimensions are). Regardless of table sizes, I am just stating that the lower the standard does not necessarily mean the slower the games will be.

11 frames are illogical therefore retarded... We should either be playing 10 or 15 frames.

This isn't a very good argument. Everyone knows the lower the divs, the longer the games. Generally.

The slka south London kent alliance do 15 frames slight difference aswell..... I played there for a few seasons games are played slighty earlier just half hour and am sure if u bring in the stop watch to a min a shot it would quicken up the games and not let certain players take the piss .... The games are split in to 3 sets of 5 with the home team filling the card in at each set not the whole card out! Bonus points are also given you could get a point a set won !!!!
