You can probably guess from the eery silence that the Coney lost. Unfortunately I could not break free from work so had to rely on ceefax style text updates...
First one: '3-0 down'
Snippet of next one: 'Fuck! It got worse Matt missed a good black on 3. Merv missed a black on 4. He then got 2 and forgot he was playing world rules so used an opponents ball fo position on black and foulng'
Surely they should have let him off ;)

To be fair to Merv he plays old EPA rules on Thursday and Sundays in Dorset and only travelled to play to ensure a Coney line up. He's been outstanding as usual this season.
Well played to the Prop, good luck for the rest of the tournament..

Heard that the Patriots won 4-1 against the Unpredictables.

Yeah, well played the Prop last night. Comfortable win for them and good luck to them for teh rest of the tournament.
Merv's moment was funny but to be fair he travelled back especially just so that we weren't short and has been excellent this year as always. Doubt it would have made much difference had he won.
Best bit of impartial reffing I have seen for a while. Ref walks up to see if his player can get past black to pot red and shouts "Yes, Waynie!" - I presume it goes then ha ha ha!! Their player clears up. Was taken in good spirit though...
