Any ten nils out there?? Thought we played really well tonight apart from me as ever losing both, little eldridge was the pick of the players with Peter John running him close, thought it was the best we played all season hope it's enough :drunk:

The Unpatrioticables 8 Pond Q's 2
We were robbed by our own poor finishing. The U's took whatever scraps we left them and thoroughly deserved their emphatic win. Good luck to them for the forthcoming winter season. A very nice bunch of lads !!

Last I heard the Prop were 5-2 up, so that makes us champions!!
I think we won 15 and drew 1 of our 18 games and despite a bit of a wobble on the run in we did the business tonight.

anyway congratulations to the bloodhounds on winning the league, understand that the prop won 6 4 so that gives the unpredictables runners up and after the start we had in the league will take that.

gota massive kick on a dolly black last week against bloods which in theory cost us the league...fil like we done a Dancing Brave (in the Derby) bottom ov the league for the 1st 3 or 4 games...poor start n maybe sum iffy team selection cost us dear if the truth b told...last nite we got away with murder against pond but actually could ov nickd all 10 we needed...amazed the bloods won the league as they wer prob 4th favs at the start ov the season, so wel done quiet an achievement really...just like murphys wer not bitter:angel: p.s. mark any idea who won the individuals(again)

Thanks Shaggy for your kind words and I'm sure there's a compliment from Jacko in there!!
On paper we do not have the strongest squad in the league but we have a good team spirit and have consistently put out the same 6/7 players all season.... this in itself breeds confidence amongst the players (no fear of instantly being dropped).
15 wins out of 18 games is an excellent record and one that I am extremely proud of!! We did indeed take this season seriously but to be honest, the majority of teams did - particularly those chasing honours!! :trophyone:

Its not all about having the biggest names or the best team on paper, so a massive well done to the Bloodhounds for demonstrating that if you get the team management, selection consistency and team morale spot on right from the start it will deliver an end result.
Of course, massive congrats to Eden Eagles picking up the other major of the summer. ;)

There have been many a debate over the years about whether a good team spirit means more than a load of individuals.
I have changed my mind over the years and am now of the opinion that a good team will maximise their potential, however a team of indivuals will not.
That doesnt mean that a team of individuals will not win the league, at the end of the day if all there stats are great because they are playing for themseves then the end justifies the means. However at the end of the day the combined efforts of a team will to some extent lessen the ability gap.
Well done nonetgheless has to go to Mr Jackson as clearly to win the divisonals for the god knows how many times defiies some belief, especially as he said he doesn;t practice any more.
Perhaps Tony would perhaps he wouldn't, but I wouldn't swap any trophy I have one as a team for something I haven't won as an individual.

yea team trophies clearly mean more as team spirit givs a much better buzz n the last thing u wana do is let ur team m8s down....those with memories wil remember wen i played for the prop we ad massive team spirit which made us constantly over achieve, heart n passion go a long long way...i get upset wen i lose irreguardless if its 1st or 2nd frame as i no my team is relyin on me n expect a positive outcome...to imply im not a team player is ridiculas mark i almost never mis a game n av dropped myself asa good wil gesture a good few times...luvd by croydon thanx m8 kind ov u 2 say...n we croydon boys all luv u lewisham guys every1 woz cheering u on last nite

Congrats to the bloodhounds thoroughly deserved over the course of the season. Well done to Jacko sadly ;)
Congrats to the Eden in a thoroughly convincing smashing of the better halfs in KO Cup enjoyable season now for the dire unbelieveably long winter season can't wait.
Got some very bad news rod is not allowed to play in Rileys they decided to give him a life ban which I think is inexplicable especially after they said if the court papers were produced with a not guilty then he would be allowed to enter. Very strange and honestly quit sad with the current deal in place he won't ever be in a singles, doubles finals absolutely Ludacris appalling from the senior people at Rileys and Jacko before u start piping up regardless whether anyone thinks he done it the courts decided otherwise. A sad day for Croydon pool

Its the equivalent to the difference between Crimininal and Cival judgements. Ones what you can prove without doubt and one is the probability of the event occuring.
In any event it really doesnt matter, as private members club or in fact any club/pub can refuse admittance to there premises for whatever reason they choose too. I don't think you need any justification whatsoever.
Not good for Rod, but a waste of ink id imagine for at least a liittle while.

as most people no drugs r illegal n can ruin lives, but most ov us av tried them at 1 time or another n sum stil partake...my questions to u all r 1)do u think its ok 2take illegal drugs to enhance ur performance on the pool table or in any other sport. 2)does it detract from any victories gained. 3) is it cheating....

I guess winning champ of champs and Only losing 4 frames all week end was a schock as well!! Im don't come on here saying how good or bad I think I am , Well in my eyes u can win 20 more singles and ranking titles and u never were and never will be as good as rod , I really do believe the only person that thinks u are is u!!!! I've seen rod play people much better than himself and wipe the the floor with them, who have u played that's much better than u?? Oh that's right nobody is Better than u in your eyes!! Now I'm barred from the site by Phil for the new season which should be a cracker Gary and Katie rejoin us and Lee Bushell as well, adding to a strong team already , looking forward to it good luck to all players and teams:clap:

I am really pleased that Mr Bushell has got a side to join this year. Been through the good great average and ugly of the Hotshots.
That Hotshots team that won the nationals...... That was about team spirit.
On ability they had a snow chance in hell, but they won...
And who won it, Not Rod, not Sean H, but the other dudes that nobody other than in that team will ever really recognise.
Having won a National Event with Surrey a couple of years later, I realised how much a group of good players and team mates can really produce.
