The Flying Machine 6 - 4 The Wizards

We went 4-1 down after the first set which was down to some awful luck on a very unfamiliar table. We soon wised up to the elasticated cushions and ice like cloth however it was too little too late. I think we deserved to be up after the first set and come away with a win but thats pool :bored:

First time i've been to the venue and met the flying machine lads and it was a good laugh with some interesting food.

Already looking forward to the return leg where we get the home table advantage

Pawleyne Foulers 5 Better Halfs 5

Another match where we fell 3-0 down managed to pull it bk to a draw both teams i am sure are more then happy with this result. Great games played in a good atmosphere good team spirit and morale from both sides reminds me of the reason why its a pub league.

good luck to our hosts for the rest of the season look forward to the return match.

nice early finish tonight so managed to get back to portsmouth before 12 for once! i agree we had a bit of luck in the first set big ben, and yes our table is fast... but 3 of your players failed to hit cushions in the first set so it cant be that "icy" ;)

apologies for the food, as everyone will tell you who has been to us recently we put on a decent spread, but the landlord was out all day today so had to order pizza in.

just one gripe about the night though... first game, your players missed the black, our player clears the last two balls but goes in off leaving your player 2 shots to pot the black... shouting "happy days" as the white drops isn't the best pool etiquette (we all know who it was lol).. some teams might have got annoyed about that but luckily we don't give a crap about the results and more about getting pissed.

See you at yours in 2 months.

The Farley 3 - 7 The Folly,

Cant seem to buy a win at the moment, The folly boys took their chances well, and it paid off, on another nite the chances might have come our way. We will soldier on.

Dogger, not too sure which one of us that was; I didn't hear it but I'm sure it was only meant for our team to hear. don't read into it. :)

I have to say, albeit slightly late that I thoroughly enjoyed the game this week against the Better Halfs.

We were intending to have a good time no matter what as Steve Lee was wetting his new borns head, but the banter between the teams was top drawer.

It was often loud, funny, and offensive at times, but never went beyond acceptable boundaries. There is no doubt in my mind that the Better Halfs will win the league this year, and even though we were never actually behind in the match we could have easily lost.

The table played better this time, Sean got his trouser press out, and brush it also, and we have the shiniest balls in the league. FACT.

Despite all pubs limitations I much prefer playing in a pub to a souless pool club.
