What was the score last time?
I'm not happy with getting Saxton. Nothing if I win and a whole load of stick if I lose.

No offence but that is a poor attitude.
Underestimate Paul at your peril.

I don't underestimate him at all, I never underestimate anyone. But it doesn't change the fact that I will still get a load of stick if I lose.

Is it still best of 3? At what stage if at all does it go up?

It's best of three up to the Quarter-Finals . .

There's a lot of players from Div 2 and below still in the draw . . How ironic now that there is a Singles KO Plate

I lost 2-1 to Paul Whooley. First game was good tactical one, should have won that one but rattled a black up the rail, did a nice finish in second. Tried to unblock a pocket in last game, potted Paul's yellow and somehow managed to pot a second yellow in the same shot. The finish Paul did then would have been a bit more tricky if the second yellow hadnt gone down! Well played though, at least I got 2 matches further than I have ever got before!
Stuart Thompson lost 2-1 to Adam Hewson
Any other results?
Chicken over and out for tonight! :saxton:

Great match (well I would say that wouldn't I?). :smug:
Think it was 2-5, 5-3, 5-3
23 frames in less than 2 hours including fag breaks; lunatic showboating; snooker count in single figures...
Best of 3 best of 9s is the way forward. Golden, make it so :threaten:

Not the greatest exhibition of pool you will ever see, but i'm just glad to scrape through. My wand will be going in to mr Parris this week to restore some magic. Ready for when I slap Golden in the next round :chair:

I've always been an advocate for more frames in the Singles but the last time it was proposed it was laughed away because it gave the better players more chance of winning and less chance of a 'giantkilling' . . Although the rules would warrant an increase in frames, I doubt very much the lower divisions would go for it . .

Kyle Pickett 3-4 Paul Adams

I'm in division 3 and I would
love to play more frames in a match, especially the single rounds.

I'm sure there are players in the lower divisions who do want more frames but it seems the general concensus feel that it gives them a better chance over a shorter distance . .
It was proposed at the same time that World Rules were introduced that the Singles & Doubles matches be played over the best of 5 frames in the early rounds and it was voted against by quite a large majority . .

Well now everyone's more used to world rules (or at least should be) maybe it's worth proposing again. Nothing to lose.

Mention it to your Secretary as he will be the person who needs to submit the proposal . .

at the end of the day, in my opinion, the better player deserves to win anyway. I'd be less likely to re-enter next season if i got lucked out on a couple of frames on the best of 3 than if i got hammered say 5-0 because i was purely out-played.
