CROYDON SINGLES LEAGUE IS BACK !!!
?About bleedin? time!? I hear you say.
Start Date: Thursday 26th November.
Full fixture lists will be available soon and will also be issued to all players on the above date. As before, the season will run for 18 weeks (tbc) including KO Cup and a number of break weeks (obviously Xmas/New Year for starters).
Fees
The entry fees are the same as last season, with the one change being the system of payment. As opposed to the previous system of ?drip-feeding? the table fees, I have encompassed it in the entry fee (which now also includes the first round of the KO Cup). Subsequent rounds of the KO Cup will still be ?2 per match, as before, for the duration of the player?s ?survival?. This means the initial entry total is now ?60.
Payment methods
As always, payments can be made to me or to Hannah at Rileys and are required prior to the season starting.
To make it easier for players there are now two payment options:
A: Full payment of ?60
or B: Two-part payment -
This method requires an initial fee of ?40 (as before) and the remaining ?20 balance to be paid, in full, within 4 weeks (this will enable the cost to spread over 2 pay days).
Tables
The entries and tables have been finalised and are shown below. As always, these started according to finishing positions last season. There have been a few players drop out which have made way for new entrants from the reserve list and also means that some players have been ?shuffled up?, so most new entrants have joined Division Two (with the obvious exception of Shaggy and Truey).

It's good to see Kyle getting to the premier through hard graft and determination!!
I will pay my money when I'm next at Riley's.

He's been there before and it'd be a tad daft to put him in Div.2, unless he's forced to play blindfolded with one hand tied behind his back.. Actually, come to think of it, better make that both hands.

Chris,
There was no need for this post.
We have been in regular contact about your trophy and I have, on numerous occasions, explained the circumstances and what is being done to try and resolve the situation.
As you know, but I will clarify again seeing as you have now made this a public issue, I was not directly dealing with the ordering of the trophies and it is a great shame that, when they were delivered, there were two trophies which were slightly damaged (yours and Vinny's). Some people said, at the time, that the damage was very minor and that we should just present them in their minorly damaged condition. (You were away for Presentation Night, so you wouldn't have known any difference anyway). We, on the other hand, decided that it was the right thing to do to present you with a trophy in perfect condition and held back on the presentation of these in order that we could give you the trophies you rightly deserved.
Since then, unfortunately, the two-bit firm producing the trophies have mucked us about no end and have lead to us taking it to their head office to get it resolved. The shop is in Coulsdon but I work in Lewisham, so there's no way I can make it down there in the working week. As you know, I did take a day off before my holiday and went down there (gaining a parkin ticket for my troubles). They promised it would be sorted in a week from then. I went on holiday*, came back and obviously they weren't ready. (holiday* in this context means travelling abroad to organise my impending wedding, but that's not important right now)
Since then, we've tried to resolve it (as I mentioned this is now the subject a complaint to their head office).
Yes, "The organisers promised it would get sorted" and it will. The trophies will happen, I haven't given up on it, and I'm not ignoring the issue.
As I mentioned above, yours is not the only trophy that turned up damaged and is still being sorted after all this time. Vinny, on the other hand, has taken my word that it will be sorted and hasn't resorted to thinly veiled blackmail.
I have apologised on countless occasions for a fcuk up which isn't my fault. If you want to blame someone, blame the poxy engravers who delivered the trophies in a damaged state in the first place.
For the record, this season the trophies will be sorted out from elsewhere (obviously) and will also be sorted earlier in the season to avoid recurrence of this charade. This has never happened before and it won't be happening again.
Chris, you'll get you trophy, you'll get your own presentation night. I'm taking a day off next week (yes, just for this), so I will keep you updated.

The only person whom deserves a trophy is Stallard.
Just present Knocky with a new dummy or something similar that he can spit out....

Mark, really sorry to hear about this misfortune which am sure will be sorted out.
However, i totally agree with ThePower, you deserve a special trophy for organising CSL IV/V. Hats off for putting so much hard work to make this happen.

Don't know what you mean, Dan.
I'm just hoping I draw that Mark Stallard bloke, I've heard he's rubbish.

Realistic is the term I'd have used. The way I see it is, starting with a pessimistic outlook means my hopes won't be kicked into the dirt if my season starts as badly as the last one did for me.

Hey Mark
As discussed, please put me down on the reserve list for the Croydon Singles League V. I know it's late in the day but just in case...
Cheers
