British Legion 6 - 1 flying machine.

after being 6-0 was a relief to get one frame lol.
we didnt take our chances, played like a bunch of tits, didnt really turn up on the night at all.
well played to the legion, some great finishes by all players.
and no, we wouldnt of picked your player that left to play, we never do, whats the point. we've travelled 1000 miles so might as well play it!

POND Q's 5 MAPLE TREE 2 . Despite another very late start, it produced a stunning display of precision pool from my team. How nice it was to get back on a proper pool table after the disgraceful antiques at Langley Park and the Pawleyne Arms. As we beat the Maple Tree by the same score in the league cup a few weeks ago,we would now appear to have attained a level of consistency which is unmatched by any other team in the league.

The only antique at the Langley last night was the fella who played at number 5 . . .

Funny enough, cant remember you turning up at the Pawleyne. Something to do with your beloved Arse....nal.

I have been reliably informed that the Pawleyne beat the Manor 5-2.

More disgraceful shinnanegans no doubt.

A very enjoyable night against the Flying Machine, & well done to them for picking another player other than the one that had left, its always nice to see sporting behaviour from another team, thats what the league is all about.

Does anyone ever do that??

Yes they do!! :wrong:

Not naming names but it's happened a couple of times.

Sorry but that's appalling.:wrong:

We played Kelly's Bar on Tuesday and they were good enough to ask me who I was likely to pick again after frame 5, rather than say who I couldn't pick. As it happened it wasn't the person who needed to leave but even if it had been I'd have just picked someone else.

To make it worse, in one instance we were at 3-3!! And the bloke they picked broke and dished in his game!!

When they came to ours with only 5 players and one of their players left, we made a point of stating that we won't pick anyone that's left. Poor sportsmanship. :wrong:

Its happened plenty of times. Never done it myself but I do think its a bit rude when people just disappear without telling the opposition, and I honestly dont think its a coincidence that it tends to be the worst player.

A simple request not to pick a certain player again because he has to go, between captains cant be too much!

That's fair enough, but when they pick a player after being told that he's got to leave early to be with his sick child, that does take the p*ss.
