Did the rules about this change at the last league meeting? I gave a notified bye win in respect of one of our players (who had work commitments) but expected to see her name in the plate draw?

I thought that people who give NBW or dont show for a match are not elligable for the plate
However, I cannot find any information in the rules that clarifies this either way
Mark will be able to clarify when he returns from holiday
There were some mistakes in the plate draw which I have corrected in Mark's absence. Some players were entered in the plate who are still in the main comp so if your player was supposed to be in the plate draw she will still be fine to be in the next round.

They were certainly allowed to last Summer. I don't know about the winter league just gone hence why I asked the original question.

In the Winter season just gone, Jay from my team gave a NBW to his first round opponent and was not entered into the Plate as a result. He was fine with that, as he had decided against playing in the Singles at the time anyway.
I'd have thought if a NBW is given, then that person is not interested. The alternative, which I know several people have done, is to ask the opponent to call it through as a 2-0 win, rather than NBW. That way, if someone genuinely can't play the first round in time, they will at least be entered into the plate by 'losing' the match, instead of giving a notified bye which suggests disinterest.

Seems that it changed last season then but I am not aware of that being communicated. Had it been I would have done as you suggested and asked for a 2-0 result to be claimed. Edi wanted to play but found herself with a lot of shifts and couldn't play at any of the times her opponent was available.
It would appear on the face of it that she has missed out on going in the plate, but will wait and see what Mark has to say when it he's back from his hols!

Since the Plate Competitons have been introduced I have not entered anybody into the 1st Round of the Plate comps that did not play and lose within the 1st round of the main comp and that includes Notified Bye Wins and any Walkover that were claimed.

I'm guessing that depends how you phoned/emailed your 'win' through to Mark. If you only gave it as a win, that might explain it. If you specified NBW then I don't know.

my secretary did them all, probably wished he'd done a NBW now, as he got beaten 2-0
