THE JOLLY 6-4 THE BLOODHOUNDS
At 4-1 down things were not looking good. With some good finishing and poor play by them we managed to win the last five games. A big win for us in this relegation battle. Good luck to the lads from the bloodhounds for the rest of the season.:D

Patriots 3 Eagles 7 massive win for us tonight bearing in mind we were missing 3 first teamers tonight. The Patriots are a very good pool team, even with our full team out I would bite your arm of for a 7-3 away win

bromley cuemasters 4-6 the unpredictables
well played to the rileys boys last night run out deserved winners! at one time we was 1-6 down so just relived to a least put some respectability in the scoreline, with help from a gritty performance from luke davis who won both his matches for us! always an enjoyable match against the rileys lads who im sure if they hadnt had such a slow start this season could have been up there challenging for the top places....

Farley Eden 3-7 Propeller
4 nil up the night before, 4 nil down last night. Pool is a funny old game at times. We had first bite in the opening 3 frames, and if you fail to take out those chances, you do get punished. We got the momentum going mid match and had it at 5-3 down only for the Prop to clinically take out the last two frames. Mention to Nick Pool - the fella didn't 'get on' a ball all night in both his two frames - but took out some sick shots. And to Leon - unbelievable cut on last ball to win his opening frame. A sick dish from Sting & Truey's explovise 2nd frame of the night were our few highlights....
Our home form this season has been truly awful and you have to go back to week 4 to register our last league home victory. Not good form to bring to the table when the Prop visit. It's now one win for us in the last 12 matches against the Propeller - and they remain our bogey side.
On the positive side we are regularly creating opportunities to win matches and its only a matter of time until we have a night where we take them all. Well played to the Prop, they always produce a workmanlike performance, and I am still sticking my neck on the line and tipping them to take the title.

Pond Q's 5 London Snooker 5 Another boring score-draw !! Another late finish !! It was fortunate that I stayed at home to watch the mighty Arsenal destroy the latest joke-side to turn up at the Emirates. They were time-wasting after 13 minutes. Very similar to some of our opponents in the Croydon pool league !! Roll on the summer clock !! It is certainly going to aggravate a lot of people. I can't wait !!

An absolutely disastrous second set from us. To be leading 4-1 at the half-way stage, and then to lose 5 in a row is simply unacceptable.
We still back ourselves to stay up, but there can be no more repeats of this!!!!! :o

With an offside winner and the team captain spiiting at the opposing team's assistant manager, you must be very proud.

We were shocking, especially me and in the end we were pleased to escape with 6-4 after being 4-0 and 6-1 down. We've got a new table at the Elmer and I hope it's just bedding in, but at the moment it's tough to play on.

:) would be ashamed if it was my team! but then old arsehole winger always did have tunnel vision when it come to certain decisions!, obviously blind about the goal decision as replays clearly prove he was offside! as for flabbergasss he should be banned the little toe rag..

West Brom are bottom - we are not.
Man Utd are top - Propeller are not.
You are so easy to correct Andy.
Nobody can argue the Propeller turn us over regularly, and that can't be said about the Eagles or Hot Shots. So yes the Prop are our 'bogey' side. I've never given a toss who you, them or Hot Shots have turned out against us for a match. Names, reputations, you are 'better than me' ego's - mean absolutely nothing to the Eden.

Some interesting top v bottom fixtures next week. Bloodhounds v Patriots, Eagles v Legion, Hot Shots v Pond Q's.

Indeed Barry. Despite Andy's serious lack of tact he can hold a cue, albeit with a fruit pastille tip.
But in fairness I can see what Andy is saying. A bogey team is a team that you beat when logial common sense indicates that you have a less than even chance of doing so.
In Eagles case - Bloodhounds
In Hotshots case - Eden
Thats not meaning any disrespect to the Bloodhounds, its actually a compliment, I am sure they go in to our game thinking they can win but knowing they are not the favourites. The fact that they have delivered consistantly is a hats off moment to hem.
The Eden/Hotshot thing has happened so much over the last couple of years, its not fortunate, but nonetheless man for man the losing team in this fixture, have been in my opinon the favourite going into each game.
But in both instances I think what most people consider to be the superior team from these matchups, have more belief that the other team is a bogey team when they lose, than if it was the other way round
Just my opinion mind. ( I am sober by the way)

look you lot, let someone sensible speak.
The prop are our bogey team, and always have been. Go and review the stats from every game the eden have played for 15 years and then come back and agree with us or stay out of it.
It doesnt matter who is better than who, on our day we can beat anyone as we have proved v all teams except the bloody prop.
I remember when i potted the black to win us a match 4-3 a few years ago and it was the first time we had beaten them for 7 years! We celebrated more after that than beating the hot shots etc which tells the story.
Yes they have been in the past on paper a better team, who practice more but for us (and only the players of the eden will know this for sure) the results against them are always skewed much more than anyones predicted weighted score based on who is the favourite.
How we can so regularly beat the hot shots, "the best of the best" and still lose so regularly to the prop is simply a mystery and therefore they are our BOGEY team.
I wouldnt come on here and tell the eagles that the blood hounds are not your bogey team?
Alex has every win, loss, draw, player stat and any other stat you would like for every ball the eden has ever hit and so the facts are there.
Let that be the end of that.
Oh but you should have seen sweatenhams face when i trebled that yellow against him and then finished him off.... he might be toppled off the top of the rankings soon...

this is a no brainer, in the last 10 years of the winter league I don't think the Prop have been out of the top 3, in the same time span I don't think the Eden have been in the top 3.(I could be wrong) Bogey team is usually used to imply a team who beats you regularly, who shoulden't on current form. I happen to think that the Eden is a very good team it's just on previous results the Prop is rated better. You are now probably thinking so what whats it got to do with you, and do you know what your probably right.

In all fairness Macca, I was standing in direct line with that shot. The pathway for the double was part blocked and the treble was the only shot on. It needed an element of good fortune, but he did play the treble.
I always come away from a match with the Prop thinking we never get a fair share of the run of the balls (maybe because we never win!), and in the opening three frames I felt the same last week. Nobody, will argue the Prop were deserved winners last week, and the scoreline correctly reflected that.

Sir Tony Nuttman, you will have to stand corrected. 2003 - 3rd spot in the Summer league! The year of our epic Knockout Cup final victory over the Hot Shots (have I ever mentioned that before?!).....
Your analysis of the term 'bogey team' is probably spot on if you look at the League Cup semi final last season. Don't think the Prop will argue we were the form side coming into that match, and that was probably our best opportunity for a number of years, but we got taken out.
I've tried to work it out why it happens v the Prop. Only thing I can come up with is their style of play is not all out and out dish. Ego's & Hot Shots play very open games, and we sit back waiting for that opportunity to appear which in turn gets us back in the game. Whereas the Prop don't go all out attack unless its 100% there off the break and they are a bit more methodical. Combine that with the style we play and for some reason it counteracts - we seldom win the tight long drawn out battles against the Prop.

I think any comment was made straight after the game as an immediate reaction to being upset (and quite rightly) that our doubles match v Mills/Charlwood was disturbed. We were 1 each and in control. Next thing its kicking off and even Cliffy will confirm it cost us the match as we both lost our concerntration. I don't think it was a case of 'stirring' anything up mainly a reaction at what happened.

Macca - you must have been standing too far away to see that the double didnt go. It was a treble or nothing, it was the only way to get position on the last yellow. I say you make your own luck. If i has fluked it then i would have apologised, as i did on the other pot that got a slight nick.
As for your other comments i am not really sure what you mean?
